New York prison data is live on Justice Audit today. All 33,881 people in state custody. First finding: 375 are serving life for robbery, burglary, assault or gun possession. No murder. In prison for the same crimes, Black people are 2.2x as likely as white people to be serving life.
While the “new” AI giants in legaltech are largely chasing the Am Law 100 and Fortune 500, Clio has spent nearly 20 years building deep relationships, embedded workflows, and distribution across the broader legal market.
Having spent much of my career working on both sides of the divide between courts and legal technology, I think there’s an important advantage being overlooked.
Clio is on its way to 100,000 law firms on its platform, while also extending its reach into the judicial system itself.
There’s a profound difference between building technology that helps lawyers do their jobs and building the infrastructure that connects law firms to the courts.
The latter, combined with that kind of distribution, could prove far more defensible than any AI model.

Dropped by opening night of the Tesla Diner. It’s a great concept and may be the future of American highway lounge culture, but night 1 was a very Minimum Viable Product here in LA. Shakes are excellent… hash browns were solid, burgers and sandwiches were pretty awful. The staff was flustered and it was quite chaotic in the kitchen. They’ll improve and I expect to see these every 200 miles on interstates across the US…Think electric Buc-ees

Aging population = lower GDP growth
Lower GDP = higher debt to service the aging population.
With high debt and low growth, the Fed needs to create liquidity to service the debt = debasement
Demographics are destiny until the robots + AI scale (2030+), thus debt up, liquidity up = number go up.
It really is that simple with a longer-term time horizon. This is The Everything Code at a very high level.
