Big sur marathon is one of the most scenic yet challenging marathon due to constant uphill & downhill route along the way at coastline Hwy-1, West Coast US in California. Organizers set interesting signs including a piano man at different stops. Its been few years ago ago.

#Karakoram where silence puts the ego in perspective. Far from civilization the distances seem endless the valleys feel infinite and every mountain reminds you of how small we really are. The Karakoram doesn’t need to prove its power. It simply stands there immense, silent and unforgiving. Pakistan is savage. Not because its mountains are cruel but because they strip away the noise the ego and the illusion of control. Out here you don’t conquer the mountains. You learn to respect them. Karakoram where perspective begins, silence speaks, and ego disappears. Vedio: Gabriel Tarso

🔴2026 A Deadly Year for High Altitude Mountaineering & Mountain Disasters The 2026 climbing season has witnessed a series of devastating tragedies across the Himalaya Karakoram and other high mountain regions claiming the lives of climbers guides tourists and local communities. #Broad Peak (8,047m), Pakistan On July 30 a massive avalanche swept away 10 climbers between Camp 2 and Camp 3. All 10 were subsequently confirmed dead including renowned Nepali British mountaineer Nirmal Nims Purja @nimsdai , Pakistani climber Sohail Sakhi @sohailsakhi_ and climbers and guides from Nepal Oman, China and the United States. #Spantik (7,027m) Pakistan Pakistani climber Dr Asma Mushtaq died during her descent after suffering a high altitude medical emergency at approximately 6,400m, highlighting the severe physiological risks that can occur even below a summit. #Manaslu (8,163m) Nepal An avalanche at Camp 3 killed an Indian German climber and a Nepali Sherpa guide, adding to the fatalities reported on Manaslu during the autumn season. #Himlung_Himal (7,126m) Nepal A slab avalanche struck the Base Camp area killing guides and leaving numerous support personnel more than 14 missing as search and rescue operations continued. #Mount_Mizhirgi (5,025m) Kabardino-Balkaria, Russia On September 6 a powerful avalanche swept through the Bezengi Gorge striking a group of 33 climbers in the glacier area of Mount Mizhirgi. Initially 11 deaths and six missing climbers were reported. After an extensive search lasting more than six days, Russian authorities reported that 17 climbers had died with all victims eventually recovered. #Nepal_Tibet_Himalayan_Disaster The region also witnessed an extraordinary mountain related disaster when a glacial collapse triggered catastrophic floods and landslides on August 26. Reports later put the death toll at more than 1,300, with thousands of people still missing. Hundreds of foreign tourists were also reported unaccounted for, demonstrating that mountain hazards can extend far beyond climbing routes and affect entire communities and international visitors. These tragedies are a stark reminder that high altitude mountaineering and mountain travel carry extreme unpredictable and sometimes uncontrollable risks even for highly experienced climbers guides and rescue professionals. Climate related changes unstable snow and ice avalanches glacial hazards extreme weather and difficult rescue conditions further underline the need for stronger mountain safety systems early warning mechanisms, professional rescue capacity and responsible expedition planning. May all those who lost their lives rest in peace, and may the families of the victims find strength and comfort. Our thoughts remain with those still missing and with the rescuers who continue to work in some of the world's most dangerous environments

#Baltoro_Glacier Is Melting And the World Must Act Now The Baltoro Glacier is melting at an alarming rate. One of the most spectacular natural treasures of the Karakoram is increasingly threatened by the devastating impacts of global warming and climate change. Pakistan is among the countries most vulnerable to climate change despite contributing only a small share of global greenhouse gas emissions. Pakistan accounts for roughly 0.85–0.9% of global annual greenhouse gas emissions while the world’s largest emitters contribute disproportionately to the climate crisis. China alone accounts for around 32% of global CO₂ emissions followed by the United States at roughly 13% with India also among the world's largest emitters. The European Union Russia Indonesia and other major economies contribute a substantial share of the remainder. Yet countries like Pakistan despite their relatively small contribution are paying a heavy price through melting glaciers floods GLOFs water insecurity and increasingly extreme weather events. Baltoro is not merely a glacier. It is part of the natural heritage of the Karakoram and a vital source of water for downstream communities. If urgent action is not taken these magnificent frozen landscapes could continue shrinking dramatically in the decades ahead. The Government of Pakistan must raise the issue of glacier loss and climate injustice forcefully at international forums and demand greater climate responsibility adaptation financing and support for vulnerable mountain regions. Those who contribute most to global warming must take greater responsibility for protecting those who suffer its consequences the most. Save the glaciers. Protect the Karakoram. Protect our future.
