A summer full of moving, unpacking, and and settling into new facilities. 📦
What briefly looked like warehouses are becoming fully equipped labs, ready for new projects, discoveries, and innovation by next semester. 🔬💡
Together with SVEN Biolabs technicians, we relocated our „image cytometer“ (scanR microscope system) from its original laboratory to its new home at the MEPHARED 2 campus. The system is now installed and fully operational. 🥳
Today, we moved our confocal microscope from its original laboratory to its new home in the spacious core facility. Tomorrow, we'll complete the final calibration and commissioning, and it will be ready to support exciting new research projects again! 🔬✨
Now that we’ve moved out, the old lab feels not only empty but also rather sad. Seeing it like this brings back so many memories of the years I spent working here with a great team. On the other hand, it’s a sign that we’re about to settle into our new facilities.
It’s been almost two weeks since part of our team attended the ICPP conference in Kyoto organized by @SPP_Office. We had a wonderful time there, with a packed conference program—full of interesting and inspiring lectures and poster presentations. It’s a shame it’s already over!
We are delighted to congratulate @MagdalenaKozli on the successful defense of her Ph.D. yesterday!
Not only her scientific work in our group made this dissertation possible, but also her six‑month research stay in the @pkselbo group, whom we would like to thank once again!
Another milestone for our group! 🎉
@MagdalenaKozli has just printed her dissertation thesis—congratulations on this tremendous achievement.
Now only a “minor” step remains: defending her Ph.D. at the end of the month, on April 27, 2026. We’re keeping our fingers crossed!
The 1st PanEuCOPT Action Conference is behind us…
It was truly wonderful to strengthen existing relationships, forge new ones, and, above all, be part of a vibrant community engaged in discussions around a shared focus: PDI !!!

We are ready for ICPP14 (@SPP_Office)
– abstracts submitted! 🥳
Many thanks to @agentura_azvcr, Czech Science Foundation, and Charles University Grant Agency for their financial support!
Can’t wait to see who else we’ll bump into there this year! 👀🧐
After several years in the making, our paper is finally out in J. Med. Chem.! 🥳 Huge thanks to everyone involved: @MagdalenaKozli, @AngeliaAlfred , @AzaPcGroup, @de_escosura , @drsaadmakhseed , @TTorresGroup (and others not found on X)
Check it out!

We’re proud to announce that the Czech Science Foundation has decided to support our research by approving our international grant “Photoactive, supramolecular, and biocompatible materials suitable for antimicrobial photodynamic therapy,” with our colleagues from Toruń, Poland🥳
During these cold winter days, it is nice to look back on the summer, when all 3 of our doctoral students participated in the ESP 2025 Congress in Bari (IT), with their poster presentations on PDT, PCI and PDI. We thank @EurSocPhotobiol for the opportunity to present our work!
COST Action PanEuCOPT (CA24127) was officially launched by Management Committee meeting on October 9, 2025, in Brussels. Our group leader is a MC member representing Czech Republic. Great to be part of it!

See you in Bari, Italy at the #ESPCongress2025 held by @EurSocPhotobiol in a few hours!
It has been almost two months since we participated in a great conference in Toruń (Poland). While the leader of our group gave a plenary lecture, PhD student @MagdalenaKozli presented her research in a poster presentation, for which she won second place! Congratulations!
Our group leader was invited as a plenary speaker at the conference in Toruń. He will present our latest finds in PDT, especially from antimicrobial PDT project funded by @agentura_azvcr .
Magdaléna Kozlíková will present a poster on 2D and 3D tumor models for PDT.
