Elon Musk in new interview on Starship: “That (flight 14) engine glitch doesn’t seem to be too much of an issue. The heat shield was robust. Flight 15 hopefully in 4-6 weeks. The big milestone coming up, which is hopefully flight 15, is to catch the ship, making it the first full recovery of an orbital class rocket.”

BREAKING: President Trump on Elon Musk today: “First, we honor an industrial titan, a brilliant engineer, and one of the greatest technology founders to ever live. His name is Elon Musk. Quite honestly, there’s nobody like him. Few Americans in history have done more to advance America’s national interest than Elon. In one field after another, his genius and determination have made science fiction into reality. And that is so true. Elon founded SpaceX with his life savings in 2002 and created the first privately developed liquid-fueled rocket to reach orbit in the face of vanishingly impossible odds. Nobody thought it was possible to do the things he’s doing, and in so many different ways. SpaceX saved NASA from relying on foreign nations to send our astronauts into space. And I want to congratulate SpaceX on the safe return of Crew-12 from the International Space Station just a few hours ago. Congratulations. Well, we wanted to make sure. Could you imagine if things didn’t work out so well? It would be not a very happy moment. I wonder if he’d be here. I think he might not be here. But it always works out well for Elon, right? We’re proud of you. Very proud of you. National treasure. Under Elon’s leadership, SpaceX has also developed Starship, the largest rocket in history, which is caught out of thin air for rapid reuse. And it’s the first time anyone has ever seen anything quite like it. They also created the largest-ever communication satellite network, Starlink. And in North Carolina, I will tell you personally, because I was involved, we had a hurricane, one of the great water hurricanes of all time. Delivered more water than at any time that we can remember on record. It saved hundreds of lives by calling Elon. I remember the governor said, ‘Sir, is there any way… do you know a man named Elon Musk?’ I said, ‘I happen to know him, yes.’ ‘We need Starlink because the water was so deep that many islands were created and the people had no way of getting off those islands, and they had no communication.’ And they said, ‘We cannot get anybody to help us.’ And I called up Elon, and it was like impossible to get this equipment. And he had it there in a matter of hours and saved hundreds of lives. Saved hundreds of lives in North Carolina. So, I never forgot that experience. It was a terrible time and the job he did. And he acted so fast. Everybody said they were impossible to get. So, thank you, Elon, for that very special moment. In addition, Elon created Tesla, the first successful new car manufacturer in over 75 years, producing the first commercially viable electric cars with the first consumer self-driving technology. And interestingly, when you mentioned Tesla, my uncle, Dr. John Trump, was commissioned by the United States government to do a report on Nikola Tesla. They wanted to know: was he real or not real? Was he a true genius or not? My uncle, after a fairly short period of time, determined that he was a true and great genius and that he was real in every single way. Otherwise, you’d have to change the name of the car company. You wouldn’t want to be a… See, now, if I did the report, Elon, I might say, ‘He wasn’t that good.’ But my uncle was a different kind of a person than I am. And he gave Tesla the highest report. He said he was a true, great genius. So, very nice. Through Neuralink, Elon is also restoring sight, speech, and motion to those who cannot see, talk, or move. And he turned SpaceX AI into one of the world’s leaders in superintelligence. Elon is our modern-day Thomas Edison. And, Elon, I want to congratulate you. You’re my friend in all of that, but you are a very, very special guy. Thank you very much, and congratulations, Elon. Great. Great job.”

FSD NEWS 🇩🇪 Germany is considering approving Tesla’s FSD Supervised on its own national territory if an EU-wide consensus cannot be reached 🔥 Transport Minister Steffen Bilger confirmed that while an EU-wide framework remains the ideal route, Germany will explore its own path if European negotiations stall, prioritizing innovation and potential safety gains despite open technical and liability questions. This unilateral move is legally possible under Article 39(5) of EU Regulation 2018/858, which allows individual member states to adopt provisional technology exemptions already granted by the Dutch vehicle licensing authority (RDW). Because formal EU committee decisions have been delayed until at least December, taking this step would align Germany with a growing list of nations that have already opted in: 🇳🇱 the Netherlands, 🇧🇪 Belgium, 🇩🇰 Denmark, 🇨🇿 the Czech Republic, 🇪🇪 Estonia, 🇱🇹 Lithuania, and 🇸🇮 Slovenia. Before giving any green light, the Federal Motor Transport Authority (KBA) plans to conduct independent vehicle tests. German regulators want concrete answers regarding driver-attention safeguards, legal liability, and an identified software flaw that can cause vehicles to exceed posted speed limits. Going solo, however, comes with a ticking clock and significant legal exposure. If the European Commission ultimately vetoes the broader EU framework, any German national exemption would automatically expire after six months. While conventional rules allow previously built vehicles to stay registered, it remains entirely unresolved whether Tesla would be legally forced to remotely revoke over-the-air software features from existing owners. A national approval would also trap the feature inside German borders. Because neighboring transit hubs like France and Austria have not adopted the exemption, German drivers would face a fragmented patchwork where FSD operates domestically but must abruptly disengage the moment they cross an international boundary.

After experiencing Cybercab for the past few days in Austin, I think the biggest thing people are missing is the zero-sum game built into Uber. You have two people sharing one environment, with different preferences. The driver likes the temperature at 66. I want 72. If I get more comfortable, he gets less comfortable. He likes his music. I want mine. He wants the windows open. I want them closed. I take a few extra minutes getting to the car, and those are minutes another human spends waiting for me. There’s this constant little tug of war. My comfort and convenience can come at the expense of his. And I don’t blame the driver. It’s his working environment. He’s in that car all day. Of course he has preferences. That’s why I just let him play whatever music he wants. I don’t want my comfort to come at his expense. We’ve gotten so accustomed to this that we barely notice the tension anymore. Then you take a Cybercab. I set the temperature to 72. Nobody gets less comfortable. I play my Spotify at the volume I want. Nobody has to give up their music. I grab my Starbucks and take a couple of minutes to walk over, within the pickup window. Nobody is sitting there getting irritated with me. The car has no competing preferences. That is a profound change in the experience. I can optimize the ride around what makes me comfortable without asking another person to sacrifice what makes them comfortable. And you feel it. You get in, lean back, and relax. There’s no negotiation. No wondering whether your request is going to annoy someone. That whole layer of social tension disappears. I think this is a huge part of Cybercab’s value. Removing that zero-sum dynamic changes what the service feels like at its core. Once people experience that, I think a lot of them are going to have a very hard time going back to Uber.

An update on FSD Supervised in Europe FSD is currently approved in five EU countries (NL, DK, BE, EE, LT), used by >70k customers for over 1 million km per day, and is 4.1x less likely to get into a crash compared to manual driving, measured across 100 million km on public EU roads. Leading up to a potential EU-wide approval vote for FSD Supervised on October 6th, 2026, we have decided to open-source one of the key pieces of evidence used to support the Netherlands approval. As a reminder, we adjusted the FSD design to be compliant with existing regulation (UN-R-171 DCAS) but requested an exemption for certain behaviors via the EU Article 39 procedure. The following dashboard is evidence of safety for those exemptions. This exact dashboard was shared with all EU Member States in April 2026, shortly after RDW’s approval, and all data presented is from before that date. tesla.com/fsd-evidence-dashb… European countries recorded 19,400 road deaths in 2025. That's around 53 deaths/day, with the vast majority of these crashes attributed to human error. These deaths are largely preventable with technology we have today. FSD Supervised is already saving lives where it’s approved – yet in much of Europe, that safety benefit remains locked behind bureaucracy.

Big news from my country today. The idiotic, crazy 36% unrealized gains tax is out of the picture. This included #Bitcoin. They have decided to suspend the whole idea, and they'll be going back to the drawing board to come up with a better version. It's a good sign, doesn't mean that the new idea will be better than this proposal.
