Rates of violence among different human groups. Subsistence farmers were vastly more violent than hunter-gatherers; modern people are much less violent.

My son was a benchwarmer for various sports at his school for several years.
He was super diligent and worked hard, but we didn’t have the body mass or the hand-eye coordination to be successful in sports like football or Lacross.
Three years ago, the cross-country coach talked him into joining the team. He was not sold on the concept of getting up early and running but thought he would give it a try.
What he found was that his natural diligence played really well into distance running. He had a good season and then went on to be successful in track as a Sophomore and did even better as a Junior.
He could’ve just enjoyed now being an asset to his school and someone who did pretty well. But instead, he spent the past couple summers running and training hard. In fact, he now runs 60 miles a week on top of speed training, lifting, etc.
On Saturday, this kid just WON STATE in the 5k with a time of 15:41, and I couldn't be more proud.

Israel’s military said Wednesday that the ceasefire was back on in Gaza after it killed 104 people, including 46 children, according to local health officials.
46 CHILDREN!!!
Are these not war crimes?
BREAKING: Israeli strikes overnight in Gaza have killed at least 60 people, including many children, local hospital officials say. apnews.com/article/israel-pa…

On reflection, I say this will be the strongest UFO evidence found for at least the next ten years, and is quite likely (>75%) to be confirmed by any replication efforts on the same or other-telescope datasets, which do actually exist.
Wonderful news. 🌟💫✨
Our two new VASCO papers are now peer-reviewed, accepted and published — and they reveal some extraordinary things:
- We find statistically significant correlations between short-lived transients on pre-Sputnik sky plates, UFO sightings, and above-ground nuclear tests.
- We show a 22σ deficit of transients inside Earth’s shadow — consistent with a fraction of these events originating from solar reflections from flat, highly reflective surfaces in orbit before the human Space Age began.
Together with our earlier MNRAS paper, these results form a triptych of new methods to investigate UAP using astronomical data. Three independent high-level journals — and three independent peer review processes.
These latest results raise a bold question.
And yes… you know which.

One of my favrite moments in running (fashion) history was Centro racing in NOP x Jordan in 2018. As far as I know he’s the only distance runner to ever wear Jordan. The split top here is a reference to the old Nike Jasari spike colorway.

Brilliant, brilliant racing craft and class one again by Mark English to win his FIFTH European medal.
Five major finals in his career, five medals.
Only Sonia O'Sullivan has won more individual medals for Ireland on the international stage.
What a racer.

Huge Irish indoor 1500m record of 4:01.62 from Sarah Healy at the Keely Klassic - she finishes second to training partner and Olympic medallist Georgia Hunter Bell (4:00.63).
Previous record was Healy's at 4:03.83 from Lievin last year.

Some people definitely did not expect me to dig up this old clip.
This is Kennedy in 2008 testifying to Congress on the harmful effects of mercury. Ed Markey was the chair who invited him, and he now says, “Robert Kennedy Jr. is an unqualified, unserious, and dangerous nominee for US Secretary of Health and Human Services.”
Funny how no one called him crazy then.

Dear @elonmusk,
The Great Pyramid is the most mysterious and debated structure in History.
Fact: We have no idea how it was constructed.
Was it really a tomb for a Pharaoh?
Or, was it a lost ancient functional technology?
481ft tall. 2.3M stones. The Largest of which are ~80TONS, and were inexplicably transported 500miles before being lifted 300ft above ground-level 🤯
The evidence suggests that a great civilization once existed on earth that was far more advanced than many would imagine.
Would you consider allocating funds and attempt to recreate a Great Pyramid?
Why? Because attempting this enormous task would likely be a failure, BUT would in return prove to the World that Ancients were indeed far more advanced than ever thought “possible”.
The implications of that are utterly astounding.

I’ve said it 1000 times and I’ll say it again: @jimryun in his prime would still be on the starting line of an Oly or WC 1500 final and would be a medal threat, 60 years later. Compare this 36.4 - on cinder, in heavy spikes - in a 3:38 race with the 39.x average for medalists in times usually only slightly faster. It looks like special effects, but it’s not.
