• Due to a fear of another person destroying his quirk, early in his life, he extracted his own quirk to surgically place it within his chest so that it would be forever trapped within his body if he was using another quirk at the time.

• A person's quirk can still be stolen for as long as they've been dead for under a week. Otherwise the quirk will decompose entirely.
