Socceroo Awer Mabil torches Pauline Hanson’s “monoculture” idea “It’s all bullshit” 🔥 Says multiculturalism makes Australia the best country in the world. “If anybody’s trying to divide that, then they’re probably not Australian themselves.” 💥

The actual translation is far more poetic. “From here the first letter of literacy was launched towards every corner of Earth.”

This week I found out people and brands across world are capable of setting aside ideology and politics to hold deep empathy for a baby, as long as that baby is a monkey, and not an actual baby in Gaza or on a pedo island with links to their favourite politician or billionaire

The enemy isn’t Jews, Muslims or Christians. The enemy is hatred and violence.

The 2025 #NobelPeacePrize goes to a brave and committed champion of peace – to a woman who keeps the flame of democracy burning amid a growing darkness. Peace laureate Maria Corina Machado has shown that the tools of democracy are also the tools of peace. She embodies the hope of a different future, one where the fundamental rights of citizens are protected, and their voices are heard. #NobelPrize

The fact that Israel killed a child by denying both food AND medicine actually makes this story worse.

In a world where systems crumble yet routines persist, hypernormalisation shows us the surreal dissonance of today and the power of naming it. #Hypernormalisation theguardian.com/wellness/ng-…

"Today, Palestine has lost a loyal friend to the Palestinian people and their legitimate rights, a strong defender of the values of peace, love, and faith in the entire world, and a true friend of peace and justice."

We live in an age of information overload, where the world’s pain is served to us with our morning coffee. Our phones ping with notifications of disaster, our feeds overflow with injustice, and our hearts grow heavy with the weight of it all. Who among us hasn’t felt the creeping exhaustion, the numbing sadness, the overwhelming sense that it’s all too much? Every day, we scroll through a litany of crises. Climate change threatening our very existence. Political divisions tearing at the fabric of society. Economic inequalities widening into chasms. Wars raging, refugees fleeing, species vanishing. And that’s before we even get to lunch. It’s easy to feel paralyzed. To want to shut it all out, pull the covers over our heads, and pretend that if we can’t see the world burning, maybe it will stop. But deep down, we know that’s not the answer. So what do we do? How do we find the strength to keep going when it feels like we’re drowning in a sea of despair? The answer, my friends, lies in focus. We cannot solve every problem, fight every battle, or heal every wound. But we can choose our ground. We can pick our cause. We can find that one area where our passion burns brightest, where our skills can make a real difference. Every day, I step into the arena of truth-telling. My focus is clear: to bridge the gap between Native realities and the wider world. These stories are flares sent up into the night, demanding that we all pay attention. This work is more than just reporting. It’s an act of resistance against erasure. It’s a reclamation of narrative power. This is what I do. But what matters is that you choose too. That you plant your flag and say, “This. This is where I make my stand.” Yes, the world will still be chaotic. Yes, there will still be days when it all feels too much. But you’ll have something to hold onto. A north star to guide you through the storm. So I challenge you today: Find your focus. Choose your cause. It doesn’t have to be grand or global. It can be local, personal, specific. But make it yours. And flood the world with hope.
