Just saw an exchange that every politician and candidate should note.
Someone posted that their dad was considering voting for Ashley Moody because of negative ads about Angie Nixon.
And Angie Nixon showed up in the replies, addressed his concerns, explained what she’s fighting for, and made it personal.
People want to feel heard, not just talked at. Angie’s response was perfection 🔥

Republican @DavidFlippoNV reported a maxxed out donation from a prominent Nevadan on his most recent campaign finance report for #NV02
The problem? She died in 2024.
Just the latest scandal to hit Fraudster Flippo’s campaign ⬇️

@AlaniBankhead This is getting ridiculous. Are you really going to be personally responsible for the GOP holding this seat? Do the right thing and endorse Bodnar.

Trump ran on cutting taxes.
But once tariffs are counted, his policies are raising taxes and costs this year for every income group except the richest 1%, per a new report from the Institute on Taxation and Economic Policy.
The reason: tariffs, which are largely passed on to consumers as higher prices, outweigh the tax cuts for most Americans.
Even the right-leaning Tax Foundation calls the tariffs the largest U.S. tax increase as a share of GDP since 1993.

In our nation's darkest chapters, progress always comes from voters — not by authoritarians stoking cynicism or exhaustion.
Vote early for Democrats to lower food and gas prices, restore healthcare and defend Democracy. Let's make history again!

These ICE videos are like getting a daily dose of horror cinema, expect they are REAL. They have to stop - American values do not include lawlessness and cruelty. This is not the America we want. #VoteBlueToSaveDemocracy

What are you willing to do in this election to push back on #IceLawlessness?
Phonebank?

Amazing day at the No Kings, No Trump Arch rally in Arlington!
Great turnout, incredible energy, and an unforgettable moment as we took over the Memorial Bridge, marching together into DC to the Lincoln Memorial.
More from today’s march coming soon!

People are fed up with Trump acting like a king and are spreading the word to vote early! There are no kings in America. #NoKings #USDemocracy

This is No Kings Day in San Diego and it’s bigger than ever before because Americans are sick of what’s happening in this Country and they’re taking it to the streets to prove it.
Trump has embraced and perpetrated so much violence -- wars, ICE, televising executions -- that no one would put it past him to blatantly start shooting his enemies.
#TrumpsAbuseOfPower will only get worse if he is not stopped!

Trump turned the presidency into a loyalty program: donors get the gold tier, the rest of us get the invoice. Your grocery bill is his tax cut made visible. Vote early and cancel his subscription for good. #TrumpsAbuseOfPower

🚨 ANTHEM HAS DECIDED IT’S MY DOCTOR AGAIN
Earlier this year, @AnthemBCBS denied an MRI ordered to determine whether my CANCER HAD SPREAD, calling it “not medically necessary.”
I publicly called them out. The post went viral.
Anthem suddenly contacted me, apologized—and approved the scan.
Now they’re doing it again.
In August, I severely injured my left foot. I’ve been in acute pain ever since and am walking around Brooklyn in a giant medical boot.
After two weeks of fighting just to get access to an in-network podiatrist, I finally saw a specialist. She examined me, ordered an X-ray, saw a hairline fracture and damage around the Achilles/heel area, and ordered an MRI so she can determine exactly what I injured and how to treat it.
My podiatrist says the MRI is medically necessary and needs to happen ASAP.
Anthem denied it. “Not medically necessary.”
Let me make sure I understand this.
The specialist who actually examined my foot, reviewed my X-ray and is responsible for treating me says she needs an MRI.
Anthem — the insurance company that has to PAY for the MRI — says she doesn’t.
Apparently Anthem is my podiatrist now.
My MRI is scheduled for Tuesday, October 20 at 5 PM. Instead of simply getting the medical care my doctor ordered, I am now spending my time calling the provider, the imaging center and Anthem’s appeals department trying to persuade an insurance company to let my doctor practice medicine.
And yes, there is an appeal process.
There is always an appeal process.
Because apparently being injured isn’t enough. You also need a second job as your own insurance claims attorney.
Here is what makes me angriest:
If Anthem refuses to approve the scan, I can pay for it myself.
Millions of Americans cannot.
What happens when someone living paycheck to paycheck is told the MRI their doctor ordered isn’t “medically necessary”?
What happens when it isn’t a foot?
What happens when it’s cancer?
What happens when the patient simply gives up because they don’t have the money, time, energy or platform to fight a massive insurance company?
I have already learned what happens when you publicly embarrass Anthem.
A scan that wasn’t “medically necessary” suddenly became medically necessary.
Nothing about my condition changed.
The public attention did.
Access to healthcare should not depend on your ability to make an insurance company uncomfortable on social media.
My doctor ordered the MRI.
Anthem denied it.
The scan is Tuesday at 5 PM.
Let’s see who blinks.
And if you’ve had an insurance company deny care your doctor said you needed, tell me your story.
I have a feeling there are a lot of us.
