Thanks for the last ten years people. It's been some journey. instagram.com/girls_names/p/…
We had initially scheduled this surprise release for today a while back but after the brutal and horrific murder of George Floyd and current events in the US and the world over, it would not feel right to not address the need for change and an equality for justice for black
people and POC and to help spread the support of anti-racism groups and resources.
100% of today's @Bandcamp digital sales of this release will go directly to the Black Lives Matter movement.

Sadly, @Girls_Names have come to a full stop, 10 years after starting out "with no clue but naivety, ignorance and some youthful idealism". Cormac Delaney remembers one of the best Irish bands of the decade.

Had the pleasure of taking Maria on tour with us last year. Been fortunate to have listened to her record for a while. It's beautiful. Amazing songs, amazing sounds, amazing structures and production!

Something was irking me this evening and compelled me to listen to an old single, A Troubled Sea for the first time in about 6 years. Now I 99% realise it's 7 years to the day we were tracking it with you @sq_analogheart check yo diary. 2012- that was gonna be a weird year

Brief head above the parapet of socials semi-self exile. Claire had a Facebook reminder this week that it's 8(!) years since we recorded this @Bunnymen cover for BBC Radio 1. Neil Peel @sea_pinks on the Moe Tuckers. Glints in our eyes. Pre-everything. blog.girlsnamesband.com/post…
HNY. Thanks to everyone who bought the record, supported us this year and came to the shows and special thanks to @ToughLove 2009 - 2019... Ten. This was never supposed to happen for this long. Who knows what the future holds. Maybe see you all again in the future? x

Zero fucks about football today. Overpaid shite. But would love to see Keane and O'Neill crack some skulls. Prawn sandwiches rammed down the throats. Cantona as assistant life coach for grace, style, and poetry classes. And/or sparky hughes to just clean knock their bollocks' in
