The Child Maintenance Service is not working for parents and it is not working for children.
The government have received reports from @Gingerbread and the House of Lords Public Services Committee suggesting improvements - I asked when Ministers would bring those improvements.

There are around two million single parents in the UK, making up a quarter of all families with dependent children. Single-parent households are almost twice as likely to live in poverty.
So it is essential that the Government takes action to ensure that these families get the support they need to prevent more children from growing up in poverty.
I am calling on the Government, (including through a letter to the Department of Work and Pensions) to bring about much-needed reform to the Child Maintenance System.

Single parents do an incredible job – juggling work, care, and the pressures of a system that makes life harder, not easier.
They deserve recognition, respect, and real support.

Last week in parliament we debated reform of the Child Maintenance Services. The CMS in its current form fails single parents.
I am an officer of the All Party Parliamentary Group on Single Parent Families which is supported by @Gingerbread and used my intervention to raise awareness of post separation abuse and the impact of the cms on child poverty.

Very pleased with this article that appeared in @thetimes. We worked closely with journalist @rhysblakely developing the story, finding relevant data, arranging interviews and providing a case study from our client @Gingerbread, the single parent charity.

The Child Maintenance Service is failing too many families, with £682m in unpaid maintenance since 2012. At @Gingerbread’s Parliamentary Reception, I heard directly from single parents who are pushing for urgent reform. Every child deserves proper support.
