🚨Sneaked out by OFGEM this morning, a warning for the first time EVER they cannot guarantee that demand will be met on a peak day in winter.
Let’s be clear what that means. They cannot guarantee that homes will be warm, lights come on or industry function on a peak day this winter.
And why? Because of an accelerated decline in domestic gas supply from the North Sea.
So what is the solution? For British bill payers to pay more, to IMPORT more from Europe (specifically Belgium) to keep the lights on in Britain.
Britain. A country with vast supplies of gas, untapped, deliberately due to Labour policy now going cap in hand to Europe and paying vast sums to import foreign gas.
It is utterly outrageous. You couldn’t make it up.

Bitcoin’s entire return since 2017 was printed in just same two hours every day.
The other 22 hours lost money.
I downloaded all 80,115 hourly candles since 2017 because this sounded impossible.
From 2017 to May 28, 2026, holding Bitcoin only from 4-6 PM Chicago compounded +2,183.5%. Holding it during the remaining 22 hours: −20.7%.
A supposedly “24/7 asset” made all of its net return in just 8.3% of the day.
I checked Bybit. Same result. Spot and perpetuals gained 195.4% and 186.8% inside those two hours, while the rest of the day lost money on both.
Then CME made crypto futures trade 24/7 on May 29.
Since that exact date:
4-6 PM: −2.5%
Other 22 hours: +17.5%
The sample is only 136 days, so it is too early to blame CME. But the timing is interesting.
