Very excited to share that the Rahme Lab (tinyurl.com/Rahme-lab) at @stonybrooku and @StonyBrookMed has received our first independent R01 from @theNCI! I am incredibly grateful to @theNCI for supporting my research continuously from my F32, through my K99/R00, and now my R01.
This R01 will support our work to identify epigenetic lesions that drive IDH-mutant gliomas and uncover new therapeutic vulnerabilities. Most importantly, thank you to the amazing trainees in the Rahme Lab for their dedication, creativity, and hard work...
...This milestone belongs to the whole team, and calls for many more celebratory dinners! I am also deeply grateful to @theABTA, @AmericanCancer, and LINCATS for providing seed funding that helped us generate the preliminary data and build the foundation for this stage. Onward!
Honored to share our research at @CUAnschutz's Neuro-Oncology Program! Thank you to @mitralabcuamc for the invitation, and for the warm welcome and engaging discussions. A pleasure sharing our work and meeting so many outstanding colleagues. Looking forward to collaborations!
Exciting news! 🎉 My lab at Stony Brook University @stonybrooku @StonyBrookMed received a Feldstein Medical Foundation Research Grant to support our work on epigenetic mechanisms that drive glioma development and progression.
We are incredibly grateful for this support and excited to push forward new ideas aimed at improving our understanding of brain tumors. Thank you to everyone in the lab and our collaborators who make this work possible! #cancerResearch #epigenetics
Super proud to be part of this work!
Going from the discovery of epigenetic silencing of CTCF insulators nature.com/articles/s41586-0… to aberrant E-P looping cell.com/molecular-cell/full… to a successful clinical trial nature.com/articles/s41591-0… all from Brad Bernstein's lab
A pleasure joining @theABTA leadership for dinner in NYC tonight. Great conversations with board members, fellow ABTA members, and ABTA leadership. Grateful for conversations, collaboration, and continued commitment to advancing care for patients with brain tumors.#CancerResearch
Excited to share our new paper in PNAS @PNASNews in collaboration with Stella Tsirka's lab at Stony Brook University @stonybrooku! A special shoutout to Alexander Rhee, a graduate student in my lab, whose dedication and insight were central to this work...

Great hosting Sid Mitra @mitralabcuamc at Stony Brook last Tuesday! @SBUPharm @stonybrooku @SBUResearch @StonyBrookMed. Fantastic seminar and insightful science from an inspiring scientist! Will continue the discussion at @theABTA annual meeting this September #CancerResearch
Happy holidays from the Rahme Lab at @stonybrooku!
A year of growth, new funding, and recent papers as we study epigenetic/chromatin disruptions in glioma development. Looking ahead to an exciting year of discovery in 2026. Learn more about us: tinyurl.com/Rahme-lab
