Did you see what Janet Mills said about me this week? She's choosing to spend some of her last weeks in office attacking my campaign. Here's my response….. Yes, I'm frustrated. So are most Mainers. I don't want boys competing in girls' sports. I don't want one dollar of Maine taxpayer money paying for sex-change surgeries for convicted murderers in prison. I don't want our money feeding an endless cycle that keeps people trapped in addiction instead of getting them clean. I don't want our money going to illegal immigrants and non-citizens in Lewiston while veterans sleep on the streets. Our state is headed in the wrong direction, and you feel it every day. Look right next door. New Hampshire has no income tax and no sales tax, and they're seeing jobs, growth, and real economic opportunity. Here in Maine, we've been stuck with some of the highest taxes in the nation. Some of the highest energy bills in the nation. A shrinking job market and too little opportunity for our kids, so too many of them leave. Falling results in our schools. Needles and crime in our streets. And after eight years of that, I'm being told to sit down, be quiet, and get in line behind her hand-picked successor, Hannah Pingree. Well, I won't. Janet Mills and Hannah Pingree have failed this state. Eight years of their leadership got us here. Four more won't get us out. That's what this race is about. In two weeks, Maine decides.
