Today, I’ve made one of the biggest decisions of my political life. After years as a @Conservatives Councillor, I've joined @reformparty_uk. Not a step I take lightly - but one I take for Solihull, for our communities, and for Britain’s future. 🧵My reasons 👇

Don't try to tell me that this is somehow a level playing field, or just normal media scrutiny. This is fraudulent activity, targeted attacks, and direct proactive attempts to find any bit of dirt that they can on a scale that is totally unprecedented. Even using fake IDs and lying to recruiters to scam their way into roles in the party, specifically with a view to accessing sensitive information - information that presents a very real security threat to senior members of our party. This is wrong. It has to stop.
🚨ITV and Hardcash Productions have engaged in probable criminal activity against Reform UK. My statement on their actions and security implications. Mainstream media will stop at nothing to harm Reform. We will not let them.

💥Labour calls it an “adjustment”💥 Pensioners deserve to know what they’ll lose. Andy Burnham has announced changes to the state pension triple lock from April 2030, with the savings going towards a new National Care Service. The annual guarantee of inflation or 2.5% would remain, but the replacement earnings link hasn’t been properly explained. That matters. Under the current triple lock, pensioners benefit when earnings rise faster than prices and 2.5%. Weakening that protection could mean smaller increases and less income than they would otherwise receive. Social care desperately needs fixing. Families struggling to find decent care know that better than anyone. A properly funded service could bring real relief, but pensioners deserve the full figures before being asked to accept this trade-off. How much less could their pensions grow? What care would be covered? And what happens if the promised savings don’t cover the bill? Reform UK has reaffirmed its commitment to keeping the triple lock. That gives voters a clear choice over this protection for retirement incomes. Calling care “free at the point of use” doesn’t mean there’s no cost. If smaller pension increases help fund it, Labour should say plainly who pays and how much. Fix social care. Protect pensioners. Publish the figures.

Great to join Midlands Reform leaders in Tamworth today at the Head Office meeting. Whether running councils or holding them to account, as we do in Solihull, we're learning from each other so we are able to deliver for our residents. 🇬🇧
We're bringing @reformparty_uk decision makers from across local government together to share good practice, plan for the future and help each other to deliver for our local residents. Today in Tamworth we met with a great team from across the Midlands. Last week it was the East of England. In the coming weeks, we'll join the dots all around the country. Across #LocalGovernment, Reform has a capable, professional team of people who are all in it for the right reasons: To fix Britain, one local Town Hall at a time.

Solihull families are waiting years for a council house, trapped in temporary accommodation or overcrowded conditions while their applications crawl through the system. Yet at the same time Solihull Council is advertising for a Resettlement Caseworker for the Afghan Resettlement Programme on a salary of up to £37,280. This is their priority. Not the local families who have paid into the system for decades, not the young couples trying to get on the housing ladder, and not the pensioners stuck on the waiting list. British people in Solihull deserve better than this.

The Tories imported 6 million people whilst adding just 455 new prison places. Under their and Labour’s watches, petty crime has become normalised. A Reform government will be the toughest on crime that this country has ever seen.

Visited an NHS cancer screening event today in Solihull - and it's a reminder of why we must keep backing our NHS to deliver preventative care in the communities that need it most. Huge thanks to the NHS staff on the front line making this happen. 🙏

Proud to introduce the Reform UK Solihull Shadow Cabinet. Every one of these councillors has stepped up to hold this Council to account on the issues that matter most to residents. Together we're building the serious, credible opposition Solihull deserves.

Thinking of Prime Minister Andy Burnham and his family following the death of his father Roy. This is a moment for compassion. My condolences to him and all his family. 🕊️

Back after the summer break with a busy week: talking SEND reforms with parents at Fordbridge, meeting residents in Fordbridge about drug issues, and at JCB hearing Reform UK's plans for apprenticeships. Another stabbing on a British high street. This time Shirley in Solihull. No police station. No visible patrols. No consequences that anyone can see. This isn't unique to Shirley. It's what happens everywhere once neighbourhood policing is stripped back to nothing. I've written to @WMPolice demanding foot patrols, a real local police presence and action on the organised crime driving this - alongside @PrishSharma1 and Cllr Sharon O'Connor 👇

Today marks 25 years since the September 11 attacks - a day that changed the world, and one that touched our own community here in Solihull. Among the nearly 3,000 people who lost their lives that day was Andrew Bailey, a 29-year-old security supervisor originally from Solihull and a former pupil of Smith's Wood School. Andrew had moved to New York as a young man and was working in the North Tower for insurance brokers Marsh & McLennan when the towers fell. He was engaged to be married that December, and left behind a young daughter and a family back home in the West Midlands who loved him dearly. A quarter of a century on, it's worth pausing to remember that this wasn't just a tragedy that happened "over there" - it reached into our own streets, our own schools, our own families. Andrew's story is a reminder that behind every one of those thousands of names was a whole life, a family, and people who still carry that loss today. Today we take a moment to remember Andrew and all those who lost their lives on 9/11, and to hold their families in our thoughts. Never forget.

🚨 A damning Ofsted & CQC report has found Solihull children with special educational needs are being failed - long waits, poor plans, parents forced to fight and win at tribunal just for support their kids are legally owed. The Conservative council's response? Effectively "well done us." This is what Tory-run local government looks like. Reform UK is demanding accountability. 🔗 solihull.nub.news/news/local…

Councils across the country have had to spend tens of millions of pounds on Labour's failed #LGR Local Government Reorganisation experiment. They took a reasonable principle and smashed it to bits with political gerrymandering of boundaries, ignoring their own criteria, and failing to listen to professionals who told them of the risks. They ploughed ahead anyway, made Councils spend money and recruit people, spend many thousands of staff hours working on plans, only to U-turn AGAIN and stop the whole thing. What a massive #waste of time and money. Labour are an absolute shambles. Burnham is a shambles. Rayner is a shambles. Councils still have no clue what the actual plan is or what they're now meant to do with the work they've done and the people they've employed for this. The whole system is broken. Labour have broken it even more. Only Reform have taken this seriously and done their work properly. Britain needs @reformparty_uk

I won’t be at the @reformparty_uk conference today. The last two days have been superb and a great experience. I’ve finally met some of the fantastic people I talk with on here. One takeaway is how hard everyone is working for the party and, more importantly, the country. Shared mission and drive. Proud to be a part of it. Thanks to all the Reformers for the warm welcome. This is big. Nigel is not messing about. If a @reformparty_uk government is elected with a mandate to deliver change, we will deliver it. The establishment will not be allowed to frustrate the will of the British people any more.
Nigel Farage threatens to hold a referendum on the House of Lords if they try to oppose his reforms if Reform UK win the next election.
