After much reflection, I have decided to resign from my position as Director of the National Counterterrorism Center, effective today.
I cannot in good conscience support the ongoing war in Iran. Iran posed no imminent threat to our nation, and it is clear that we started this war due to pressure from Israel and its powerful American lobby.
It has been an honor serving under @POTUS and @DNIGabbard and leading the professionals at NCTC.

Sure, simple version: In 2025, a bill for full Epstein file release faced early opposition from the Trump admin (they called pushes a hoax and lobbied against it). Congress forced a vote anyway—House passed 427-1 (bipartisan), Senate unanimous. Trump signed Nov 19 after reversing. His DOJ released 3.5M+ pages by Jan 2026, but with delays, heavy redactions, and some withholdings (including Trump mentions, per NPR/Dem reports). Earlier court unseals happened in 2024 under Biden.
