One week out. Lapsed customers bought, went quiet and stopped opening your email. When one finally clicks your winback message, they land on the same store they left, usually with no sign of the offer you sent. On October 29, Zak Cassady-Dorion (@ecom_rocket) of ECD Digital Strategy shows how ECD reaches lapsed customers through SMS and direct mail, including the ones who stopped opening email, and what to show them on site so they buy again. Convert Your @klaviyo Traffic is a free masterclass, Thursday, October 29 at 11 AM ET. Three agencies take one segment each. 60 minutes, with live Q&A. Everyone who registers gets the playbook. In the inbox, your VIPs see their tier, their points balance and early access. Then they click, and they get the same welcome popup and 10% off as someone who has never bought from you. You give away margin on orders they were going to place anyway. On October 29, Roddy Smith, GM North America at @socialandzen, covers VIPs: what each loyalty tier should see when they land, how a VIP page differs from the page everyone gets, and a client result. Andzen has won Okendo's Best Loyalty Implementation award two years running. Convert Your Klaviyo Traffic is a free masterclass, Thursday, October 29, 11 AM ET. Also presenting: Gina Potenza from @klaviyo, @nickselman from @getshoplift, @benzettler from @zettlerdigital and Zak Cassady-Dorion (@ecom_rocket) from ECD Digital Strategy. Everyone who registers gets the playbook, including Andzen’s chapter on VIPs and loyalty. Register here: link shoplift.it/4Bed9eB

Someone bought from you once, they come back and see the same site they saw before they ordered. Nothing personalized to drive a second purchase. They bought once. Give them a reason to come back. On October 29, @benzettler of @zettlerdigital covers one-time buyers to repeat customers: how to define them in @klaviyo, what they need to be experiencing on your site to turn into repeat buyers, and where teams get it wrong, all from his work with consumable, health and wellness brands. Free masterclass with @nickselman from @getshoplift, Gina Potenza from @klaviyo, Roddy Smith from @socialandzen, and @ecom_rocket from ECD Digital Strategy. Thursday, October 29, 11 AM ET. Everyone who registers gets the playbook, including Zettler’s chapter on turning one-time buyers into repeat customers. Save your seat: shoplift.it/4ivjbjz

You segment in Klaviyo. Then you stop personalizing at the click. Your VIPs see the same homepage as a first-time visitor, your winback flow sends people back to the store they left. You test on site, but never by Klaviyo segment. Your agency owns the send, and nobody owns what happens after the click. If that sounds like your store, join us and three @klaviyo agencies on October 29. @zettlerdigital will be covering turning one-time buyers into repeat customers. @socialandzen will be covering VIPs. ECD Digital Strategy will be covering how to bring lapsed customers back, and we'll be closing with how to read each segment by revenue per visitor. Every registrant gets the playbook: one play per segment from the agency that knows it best. Register here: shoplift.it/487H62w

Brands on @klaviyo earn nearly 41% of their email revenue from flows, and flows make up about 5% of the email they send, according to Klaviyo’s email benchmarks. You trigger each flow from something a customer did: a first order, an abandoned cart, 90 days without buying. You split out VIPs, one-time buyers and lapsed customers, and you write each group its own message. Then they click, and every one of them lands on the same homepage as a first-time visitor. On Thursday, October 29, we’re hosting a free masterclass on converting the traffic you send from Klaviyo, with @zettlerdigital, @socialandzen and ECD Digital Strategy. Each agency takes one segment and shows what that customer should see on your store, with a client result. 11 AM ET. 60 minutes, including 20 minutes of live Q&A. Everyone who registers gets the playbook: how to show each Klaviyo segment its own experience on your store and how to test it, with a chapter from each agency. Save your seat: shoplift.it/4zHBMyZ

Ramen Bae leaned harder on paid through the first half of 2026, growing paid sessions 22.9% year over year in Q2. More of the people landing on the store were meeting the brand for the first time. They went into the paid push with a testing habit already built. Founder Jonathan Lam ran his first A/B test in October 2024 with no testing experience. When the brand moved to a custom site built by Manufactur, their long-time agency partner, Shoplift’s theme-level approach kept Jonathan testing without a developer in the loop for every idea. Ramen Bae has launched 141 experiments on Shoplift since that first test. Across the first half of 2026, Ramen Bae raised revenue per visitor by 26.4% and average order value by 27.8%. A visit to their site was worth 26% more than a year earlier, while first-time visitors from paid made up a bigger share of the traffic. Read the full case in the replies below.

When Anna Parmelee joined @fishwife as Head of Growth, the site had minimal systematic testing. Together with their agency partner on/Sight, they worked to change that and mapped out a strategy: target bigger, run fewer tests, and anchor everything to revenue per visitor. When traffic triples, conversion rate usually takes a hit; that's how ecommerce typically works, but for Fishwife, it was a bit different. While sessions surged 77–170% YoY, their revenue per visitor grew 25% at peak. That's not luck. Conversion rate is hard to grow when volume expands this quickly, because each new wave of traffic is lower intent than the last. Growing it anyway, in every quarter, is the clearest sign the program is working. That's what a mature CRO program looks like at this stage of growth: not a single breakthrough test, but a site that keeps converting better even as the brand scales and a compounding record of decisions made on evidence. Full case study is now live, link is in the replies.

Yesterday, we dug into the data behind BFCM for the Other Half - the 53% of $10M+ Shopify brands that don't peak during BFCM. We broke down seven buying patterns (Shapes) to help brands understand what Q4 actually looks like for their business and how to align their CRO, acquisition, and discounting strategies with when their customers buy. Huge thanks to @BryanBumgardner (Head of Content, @northbeam) for sharing insights on acquisition and measurement, @iamshackelford (VP of Partnerships, @CommnThreadCo) for bringing the operator perspective, and @nickselman (VP of Growth, Shoplift) for walking through CRO and site strategy. Missed the session? The full replay is now available! Link is in the replies below.

Picture two people shopping on the same Friday in November. One has been waiting six months for a $2,000 couch to go on sale. The other is staring at a gift list, wondering what on earth to buy their dad. They’re both shopping during BFCM, but they don’t have the same problem, and your promotion shouldn’t treat them like they do. Before you decide whether the banner says 20% or 30% off, there's a more useful question: what are you actually trying to get this shopper to do? Because "buy during the sale" isn't specific enough to build a site experience around. A gift buyer needs help choosing. A shopper who's been waiting for a price drop needs confidence to commit. Someone restocking for cold and flu season needs a reason to buy now instead of when they're already sick. Same promotional period but very different jobs for your site to do. Our final blog in our BFCM 'The Other Half' series takes a look at the importance of understanding the buyer behavior you're trying to influence in order to give you something to build around - Read the full blog in the replies below. Tomorrow, we'll be going deeper into this with @northbeam and @iamshackelford ( @CommnThreadCo / @drinkbrez) breaking down the seven buying patterns we found, what the data tells us about each one, and how to turn those patterns into acquisition, promotion and testing decisions. Join us to learn how your shoppers actually buy and how to use that behavior to get more from BFCM - shoplift.it/4h0jAZm

Tomorrow Your best BFCM play might not look like everyone else's. If one of these sounds like your business, then this masterclass, co-hosted with @northbeam and @iamshackelford ( @CommnThreadCo / @drinkbrez), is built for you. - You sell a fresh start. - Your season is a different season. - Your product can't arrive inside the window. - Demand comes from a life event, not a date. - Your customers were already coming back. - A real deadline, not your promo, decides when they buy. Thursday, October 8, 11 AM ET. 60 minutes. Register here: shoplift.it/4h0jAZm

How do you think about CRO when you're among the half of Shopify brands that don't peak during BFCM? You start with a question most Q4 playbooks skip: what actually drives demand for your product, and does that change during BFCM? Your customer might be preparing for a fresh start in January, waiting for a different use season, buying on a replenishment cycle, or responding to a real deadline that has nothing to do with Black Friday.  Each of those patterns calls for a different site experience. This week, together with our friends at @northbeam, and @iamnickshackelford (@drinkbrez / @CommonThreadCo), we are breaking down the CRO strategies that 53% of $10M+ Shopify brands need to succeed during BFCM. Thursday, October 8, 11 AM ET. All attendees of Thursday’s masterclass will also leave with a BFCM playbook they can begin to implement immediately. Register here: shoplift.it/4h0jAZm

On October 8th we’re co-hosting a Masterclass with @northbeam and @iamshackelford + @CommonThreadCo / @drinkbrez on brands BFCM was not built for. We’re calling them The Other Half: Brands who don't experience the usual peak. Supplements brands fall in this category, selling health, discipline and a reset. Our storefront data shows that 77% of supplements brands don’t experience a BFCM surge, they get a bit of a lift (1.14x) but not the typical peak that other Black Friday-friendly storefronts enjoy (2.59x). We’ll be breaking down what BFCM does to brands like these, how it affects their unit economics, the spend decision they should be making in November and going through a short list of CRO moves they can make in October and into the first two weeks of December. A November sales lift doesn’t necessarily mean your discount created more demand. For customers buying because something broke or a new need appeared, the reason to shop already existed. The offer may have helped them choose you. But availability, product guidance, or a clear delivery date may have mattered too. That distinction shapes what’s worth testing. The second blog in our BFCM The Other Half series explores how to give BFCM the right job when something else drives the purchase. Read the blog in the first reply. Join Shoplift, @northbeam and @iamshackelford + @CommonThreadCo / @drinkbrez on October 8, 2026, at 11 AM ET for a free masterclass where we'll be showing you how to recognize your demand pattern, decide what role BFCM should play, and how to build the right testing plan around it.
