On May 13 and 14, AgScape hosted a two-day thinkAG Career Competition at St. John Henry Newman Catholic Secondary School in Hamilton where 800 grades 7-8 students had the chance to learn about Ontario’s agriculture and food system from industry experts and discover rewarding careers in this thriving sector.
Thank you to St. John Henry Newman Catholic Secondary School for partnering with us for this event! We also want to extend our appreciation to our dedicated volunteers from Worm Wrangler, @OntarioPork, @GrainFarmers, @OntarioFarms, @4HOntario, @GetCracking, @GayLeaFoodsCoop, @DairyMuseum, @OntarioDairy, @BeefFarmersON, @niagaracollege, and @PremierEquip1. I had a great time attending the Egg Farmers of Ontario reception this morning. A fantastic opportunity to connect with the people who keep Ontario’s egg industry strong and sustainable.
As someone who keeps a small chicken coop at home and proudly calls himself an amateur egg farmer, this event was especially meaningful to me. I know firsthand the care and commitment it takes to raise hens and collect fresh eggs — and I’m always learning from the pros!
