Zwingli: Every father since the Apostles errored on baptism
Vermigli: If it weren't for the history of ubiquitous "real presence" language we'd abandon these terms
Baxter: Nobody taught Reformed perseverance until the Reformation
Let's stop playing games here
Unrelated to Anglicans, but some early Lutheran orders required confessional subscription to the first 4 councils as a separate matter from the rest of our confessions!

‼‼ BIG OL' GRAPH UPDATE ‼‼
I added a bunch more Eastern Orthodox and Lutheran accounts, as well as many of the people who replied to my first post. Anyone who has 1k or more followers is eligible to be added.
‼️‼️BIG OL' GRAPH ALERT‼️‼️
I've been doing some research, and i've compiled a BIG OL' GRAPH of a ton of Christian X accounts (with a minimum of 1000 followers). I will add any account with at least 1k followers that I find. If you would like me to add someone please tell me in replies. I need as many accounts as possible so I can get accurate statistics.

Regardless of if you’re Nicaean or Arian, you should not celebrate the First Council of Nicaea
It split the Body of Christ and damaged Christian unity.
This is nothing to celebrate.

"All fast days shall be kept as hitherto. One shall abstain from eating flesh at the forbidden times. Sunday, the apostles' days, Our Lady's days, etc., shall be kept holy for the Word's sake, but... no one's conscience shall be burdened" - Waldeck Church Order of 1528

Kevin even if these quotes seem vanilla or uncontroversial to you this does not thereby make the Protestant guys quoting them disingenuous. Most online Roman Catholics do not read theology at all, if I quoted literally any of the Baroque Scholastics or the Manualists to them they'd be more helpless than a headless chicken. Because of the fact that they do not read, they largely defend ridiculous views of things just like the rule of faith. So quoting these fathers on these quotes is good and useful in confounding those who do not read in their ignorance. I don't see how this is meaningfully any different than Roman Catholics who argue against "Protestantism" and by that mean evangelical 20th century theology. It's all just adapting to the slop of wtv environment you are working in.

Papist twitter is filled with the most vanilla, uncontroversial quotes from the Fathers which supposedly stand against Protestantism and a bunch of replies proudly confirming the sentiment. What are we doing guys

Despite its condemnation, the papists yearn for justification by trust in mercy.

"Thousands of these works have long been available only to highly specialized readers. The volumes of the Latin Fathers, for example, have gathered dust in a handful of university libraries, while the theologians who wrote the Reformed confessions relied on texts that most Christians could not access. Now those works are here for you to read."
