Today, five children killed by a Russian attack - 13-year-old Zakharii, 14-year-old Viorika, 16-year-old Dominika, 9-year-old Federika, and 18-month-old Artem - were laid to rest in Radushne, Dnipropetrovsk region. A Russian missile struck the Voronov family's home on the night of July 29-30. For more than two months, the children had been listed as missing. Their bodies were finally identified after extensive DNA testing. Ten members of the Voronov family were killed in that Russian attack: 47-year-old Artem, his 41-year-old wife Olena, seven of their children, and their 18-month-old grandson.
A farewell ceremony for the Voronov family in Radushne, Dnipropetrovsk region. Dad Artem (47), Mom Olena (41), their sons Mark (17) and Azarii Ilai (11), and their youngest daughter Emiliia (6), were killed by Russia. A Russian missile strike completely destroyed their home. Five more children, including their 1.5-year-old grandson, Artem, remain missing. "He called me and said, 'Our son is gone...' Those words hit me like a stone. I'll remember them for the rest of my life," Artem's mom shared. My heart breaks for this family. Deepest condolences... R.I.P. 📹: Svoi Kryvyi Rih

With great sadness, we received information about the passing of an Auschwitz Survivor Hermann Höllenreiner, who died three days before his 93rd birthday. Hermann Höllenreiner was a German Sinto. He was born in Hagen on 19 October 1933, and he grew up in Munich. In March 1943, aged nine, he was deported with his family to the German Nazi camp Auschwitz, where he was registered under prisoner number Z-3526 and imprisoned in the section designated by the SS for Sinti and Roma families. Höllenreiner endured hunger, forced labour and daily terror. He later recalled being made to carry jars containing the organs of murdered children for SS physician Josef Mengele, while members of his family were subjected to medical abuse. He was transferred out of Auschwitz before the murder of the remaining prisoners in the Sinti and Roma family camp in August 1944. He subsequently endured imprisonment in Ravensbrück and Sachsenhausen before escaping from a death march near the end of the war. Exhausted and severely traumatised, he was taken to France by liberated French prisoners and eventually placed with a foster family in Paris. His separation from his family continued long after the war ended: only in December 1946 was he reunited in Munich with his parents and sister, who had also survived. In later life, Höllenreiner shared his experiences through talks, interviews and commemorative events, bearing witness to Nazi persecution and speaking out against the continuing discrimination faced by Sinti and Roma. His life inspired Anja Tuckermann’s documentary novel "Mano: The Boy Who Didn’t Know Where He Was." In 2013, he received Germany’s Federal Cross of Merit for his work as a witness and educator.

In the summer of 2023, reconnaissance Defender Volodymyr Ovsiannikov came under Russian fire and suffered severe injuries. He lost an arm, a leg, and an eye, and underwent 48 surgeries. His Mom, Mrs Vira, has stayed by his side, caring for him and supporting him. “She gave birth to me, taught me how to walk, and raised me. And then she had to teach me to walk all over again,” Volodymyr says. Mrs Vira shares that Volodymyr often felt insecure and depressed, and she had to find the words to help him get through this. Russia's war has brought so much grief to Ukrainian moms. 📹️️️️️️: Radio Liberty

Liel's father has not spoken to her since the October 7th attack. Three years without hearing his daughter's voice. Why? Because Liel Hetzroni (11) was murdered by Hamas terrorists on October 7th. "I'm just a girl, I have school!" Liel reportedly told Hamas. They didn't care. They murdered her in cold blood. It took investigators 6 weeks to identify her body. All that remained after Hamas burned the house down was ash and bone fragments. Nearly 1,200 Jewish Israelis died that day. Hamas turned Liel into ash. Her father Gavin Heller told news after her death that she was killed for one reason and one reason only: because they were Jewish. "They just found remnants of Liel... initially they didn't have enough pieces to make a formal identification. They identified her literally by sieving the remnants," Gavin told news. "This will unfortunately live with me for the rest of my life." This is a true story. Google it. Look for BBC's interview with Gavin Heller. Read about Liel Hetzroni. Share with your friends. Liel in Hebrew means "god is mine" in Hebrew". Don't let Liel's memory fade. She was just a girl who wanted to go to school 💔

Thank you, Poland for giving visa to these beautiful woman. Look at these two faces. One was burned with acid for fighting the Taliban. One was blinded for shouting freedom in Tehran. Now look again. These are the faces the regimes feared most. Fahimeh is from Afghanistan. Her husband threw acid on her face because of her activities against against the Taliban and told her: now I have taken your eyes and your face, people will be scared of you, so I dare you to go out and talk to people. I invited them to come on stage with because I want to dedicate my award to these real activists. She met Kosar, an Iranian woman who was blinded by the Islamic Republic during the Woman life Freedom uprising. Thank you Poland for giving us visas. I am taking these two women to Auschwitz before they go on stage. They will stand on stage in Poland, the face her husband wanted to hide speaking to thousands. I do not see victims. I see heroes. They are not fighting for themselves. They are fighting to protect democracy everywhere from the most dangerous cancer, which is called Islamism. Meanwhile, women sit on death row in Iran right now, waiting for the gallows. Women are being erased from every classroom, every job, every public street under the Taliban. And the whole world is quiet. Where are the women's marches? Where is the outrage? This is why I call on universities across Europe and America: open your doors to these heroes. Invite them. Let the new generation of the West hear the truth from women who paid the price of freedom with their eyes and their faces. Books cannot teach what they have lived.

🔥 Putin promised to make Russia safer. Almost five years into his failed “three-day operation,” his hometown is on fire. 🇺🇦 Ukraine hit an oil export terminal, a data center, an electrical substation, an Ozon logistics hub – and a bridge in St. Petersburg. 🌉 Russia keeps targeting bridges in Ukraine. Apparently, Ukraine listened carefully to the idea. The biggest change in this war? We can fight back – and Russia is increasingly reaping what it sowed. The war is returning to Russian territory, where it belongs. 🔥 Subscribe to witness Putin’s collapse – and share to spread the truth. 💙💛 #StandWithUkraine #RussiaIsCollapsing #MakeRussiaSmallAgain #RussiaEconomy

We waren gezellig in gesprek Maar toen veranderde alles. #standwithukraine #support #Ukraine #help #steun #oekraine

"I envied those who had died." What Ukrainians go through in Russian captivity is horrifying. Both men and women are subjected to torture. 34-year-old Olesia Melnychenko, an Azov paramedic, shared what she endured during eight and a half months in Russian captivity in Olenivka and Taganrog: inhumane conditions, relentless hunger, beatings, and physical and psychological abuse. "There were 18 of us in a cell with only six sleeping spaces. We had to wash with just half a liter of water. We heard the screams of men being beaten for days. Russians would give us a spoonful of porridge and fish that hadn't been scaled or gutted. At one point, they brought us 'drinking water' with tadpoles swimming in it. We had to run and sing songs while they beat us with batons. They put me in a cage..." In December 2022, Olesia was released in a prisoner exchange. After undergoing rehabilitation, she returned to serve in the Ukrainian Armed Forces as a military psychologist. 📹: Suspilne

COLUMN: UW ONDERGANG IS IN BEHANDELING.

🇮🇹🇺🇦 WOW! WHAT A SPEECH! WHAT POWERFUL WORDS FROM ITALIAN PRIME MINISTER GIORGIA MELONI! Here is the full five-minute excerpt of her speech devoted to Ukraine and Donald Trump. “Russia has launched a new autumn campaign against Ukraine. Unable to advance on the battlefield, Moscow has increasingly turned its attacks against civilians: power plants, residential buildings, hospitals, and even buses carrying people to work, as in the horrific massacre in Kramatorsk. This is a strategy through which Russia seeks to subjugate Ukraine with terror, cold, and darkness, simply because it has failed to conquer it on the battlefield. The facts contradict Kremlin propaganda and those who spread it here. Since the beginning of the year, Russia has captured very little territory, and in September it lost much of what it had previously seized. This halt did not happen by chance. It was achieved through Ukraine’s courage and Western support, including that of Italy. This resistance is the only effective instrument for bringing Russia to the negotiating table. I respect and understand the passionate debate on this issue, including within this chamber, because nobody here wants war. We all want peace. The difference lies in how we intend to achieve it. As I see it, supporting Ukraine is not an alternative to peace. It is what makes peace possible. Because if an aggressor expects its opponent to surrender, why would it negotiate? Surrender is not peace. It is conquest. If Ukraine stopped defending itself tomorrow, as many suggest, we would not have peace. We would be discussing the occupation of a European nation and the return of Soviet imperialism. Personally, I do not miss those times. I do not miss Russian tanks crushing uprisings in Prague and Budapest. I do not miss the Berlin Wall. And nobody will ever convince me that the surrender of those defending their freedom can be called ‘peace.’ The peace we want, and the peace we are working toward, even at the cost of concessions, is a just peace, because only a just peace can endure. Only a just peace can protect Europe and our interests. That is why our government's position remains unchanged: support for Ukraine, with particular attention to civilians, pressure on Moscow, and Euro-Atlantic unity remain the pillars of our actions. In this context, we must address Donald Trump's diesel agreement with Russia. This is a decision I consider extremely risky. Of course, we all recognize the need to contain fuel prices, which place a heavy burden on families, including Italian families. But we must understand that rising prices are primarily linked to the war in Iran, not Ukraine. Legitimizing Moscow, whose bombs continue to fall on Ukrainian cities, providing new revenues to finance the war, and weakening sanctions are all factors we cannot ignore. And they contradict everything Western nations, including the United States, have done to force Putin to the negotiating table. An energy ceasefire is a different matter, one that Italy supports, and we are grateful to President Zelenskyy for Ukraine's immediate willingness to agree to it. Now we expect Russia to stop attacking Ukraine's energy infrastructure. Finally, at such a difficult moment, when so many variables are beyond our control, there is at least one thing that depends on us: We must ensure that Europe does not simply stand by and watch, because the terms of peace will affect our continent and our security.” — Giorgia Meloni, Prime Minister of Italy

GENERAL SYRSKYI: RUSSIA HAS OVERWHELMING SUPERIORITY — BUT UKRAINE HAS STABILIZED THE FRONT In an interview with the BBC, Ukraine’s Commander-in-Chief, General Oleksandr Syrskyi, described the enormous imbalance of forces, the strategic importance of the Kursk operation, and how Ukraine has managed to slow Russia’s advance. RUSSIA’S NUMERICAL ADVANTAGE In 2025, Russia reportedly enjoyed an 18-to-1 advantage in combat aviation and guided aerial bombs, while possessing 2.5 times more artillery and ammunition. However, Ukrainian medium- and long-range strikes deep inside Russia have helped reduce that advantage. According to Syrskyi, Russian battlefield losses can now be six times higher than Ukraine’s. THE KURSK OPERATION WAS A STRATEGIC NECESSITY In the summer of 2024, Russian forces outnumbered Ukrainian troops by as much as six to one in certain sectors. Ukraine responded by striking Russia at its weakest point — the Kursk region. Within a month, Ukrainian forces had seized control of approximately 1,200 square kilometers of Russian territory. Moscow was forced to redeploy around 70,000 troops, giving Ukrainian forces valuable time to regroup and strengthen their defenses. THE FRONT HAS STABILIZED Syrskyi emphasized that the most important measure of Russia’s progress is how much Ukrainian territory it manages to occupy. According to his figures, Russian forces captured just 61 square kilometers during the first six months of 2026. He argued that this demonstrates a significant change in the battlefield situation: Ukrainian forces are no longer retreating as they did in 2024. POKROVSK: OUTNUMBERED, BUT NOT ENCIRCLED Russia concentrated approximately 100,000 troops in the Pokrovsk sector, outnumbering Ukrainian forces by six or seven to one. Moscow claimed to have captured Pokrovsk on September 30, 2024. However, according to Syrskyi’s account, Ukrainian forces did not complete their withdrawal until late June 2026. Syrskyi acknowledged the psychological pressure on soldiers defending isolated positions. A soldier on the front line sees only what is happening directly in front of him. When Russian forces advance, he may feel abandoned. But Syrskyi insisted that no Ukrainian unit was encircled and that commanders successfully withdrew all formations. DISAGREEMENTS OVER DRONE FUNDING Syrskyi also denied having a personal conflict with Mykhailo Fedorov. According to him, their disagreements concerned military funding priorities. Fedorov favored purchasing certain categories of drones, while Syrskyi argued that procurement decisions needed to reflect the broader requirements of the Armed Forces. One particularly serious shortage involved unmanned ground vehicles and robotic systems needed on the battlefield. THE CENTRAL MESSAGE Russia continues to possess overwhelming advantages in manpower, aviation, artillery, and ammunition. But numerical superiority does not automatically translate into battlefield success. Ukraine has adapted, expanded its deep-strike capabilities, forced Russia to divert substantial resources, and significantly slowed the pace of Russian territorial gains. That is the picture General Syrskyi presented in his BBC interview.
