ALT Post on Reddit r/Autism - Title: UK Parents: don't get yourself diagnosed as Autistic. The First three paragraphs are as followed: I don't think this is talked about enough in Autistic spaces. Everything is about the affirmation and validation you receive once you are finally diagnosed as Autistic. There is nothing that talks about the impact that has on your family. As soon as I was diagnosed I was reported to Social Services. The reason? Because I am a parent and diagnosed Autistic. The UK government wants all newly diagnosed parents to be assessed for their "capabilities to parent". This investigation often gets labeled up as "emotional abuse", because of the stereotype that Autistic people have no empathy. The rest of the post is too big for Twitter's Alt Text.
