This is wild. Can you imagine an old player scoring 6pts breaking a streak of 866 games of 10+pts? Then next game drops 51 points!
Michael Jordan did it in 2001. Here he is scoring 51pts

Carmelo Anthony and others, who were once LeBron James’s opponents and rivals, gave a clear answer as to why Michael Jordan is the GOAT.🔥
“He was more dangerous with the Wizards. He didn’t have the athleticism anymore, but the angles got sharper. Two dribbles, pump fake, boom. He made the game simple off jab steps and fakes. Everybody wants the dribble-dribble-double-step-back. He didn’t.”

Even at 38, with the explosion gone, Jordan could still wreck a defense in two dribbles. That is the core of the GOAT case, not just the flying Bulls years.
MJ is different from LeBron, who merely pads his stats. Jordan won six titles at his peak, then kept showing the same ease after the peak. Historical context matters.
The 90s allowed more contact; defenders came at you straight. Reaching a point where you no longer needed lift, only angles and timing, is not “skill.” It is control.
A winner’s presence is not highlight dunks. It is the ability to erase the opponent’s options. Wizards Jordan no longer looked like an aerial icon. He looked like the man who owned the geometry of the floor.
That is why it is GOAT evidence. Even diminished, he scored with a simplicity that mocks today’s endless dribble culture. Longevity stats can be stacked. This kind of late-career violence of simplicity cannot. He did not just beat his era. He made the game itself obey his rules.
NBA fans around the world would surely agree 100% with the opinions of Carmelo and the others.🙏

100% the best footwork for a big. No one even close at PF or C.
Jordan might have the best footwork for non bigs but it’s more impressive what Hakeem did with his footwork as a center

6’6 G/W Frashad Tisby has taken over the on-ball duties for Cross Creek as he enters his senior year, and he’s looked good doing it so far here at @GBCALIVE. Tisby is a lights-out shooter with real versatility at 6’6, as he can play both on and off the ball. He looked really comfortable today as Cross Creek’s primary ball handler. At 6’6, he also possesses the mobility to guard positions 1-4. @hoopseen
