I’m speaking at BSides Perth 2026. MUCH EXCITE!! The session uses a tiny DIY passkey authenticator to explore a bigger question: just because something works, does that mean you should trust it?

When you hear about attackers using AI, often people default to imagining people vibe coding malware, but some of the most novel and successful use of AI we have seen is enhancing existing attack tradecraft - and has any tactic been more successful in the history of our industry than phishing? This deep dive on EvilTokens is worth a read for every defender out there. It highlights how attackers are adding AI capability across the entire kill chain, from crafting more personalized phishing emails, to helping find high value targets post compromise - microsoft.com/en-us/security… p.s please disable/limit device code auth in your tenant

Why did I leave Microsoft? To work full time on 🔥 Maester. Over 40,000+ tenants today rely on Maester to monitor their tenants daily. I wanted to make sure that the tests they are running continue to be relevant and evolve as Microsoft 365 and the security landscape evolves. So today I'm announcing the launch of Maester.Cloud Maester Cloud is the portal companion to Maester that lets you track your results over time. It is multi tenant, runs in your cloud (or ours) and more → check out the site for all the features. More importantly Maester Cloud is a way for me to fund the continued development of the open source Maester core and the tests in Maester. That is our mission. In fact I worked with the core team @fabian_bader , @Thomas_Live , @MySnozzberries and @SamErde to create the Maester Manifesto (maester.cloud/manifesto). It is our promise to the community. If you value Maester and would like to support and ensure that Maester continues to grow and be healthy, I would be beyond thrilled if your organisation can sponsor this effort. I would also appreciate it very much if you can share this post with your network to spread awareness. Thanks!

We are excited about our partnership with @OpenAI ! Security is a team sport after all! 💜
A word from @OpenAI and Microsoft Office of the CISO: AI models are becoming much more capable in cybersecurity, and that progress raises the bar for everyone. As capabilities advance, we're focused on deep collaboration with defenders to make software more resilient. Through initiatives like OpenAI’s Trusted Access for Cyber program and Microsoft’s Secure Future Initiative (SFI), we’re committed to helping customers and the industry use these advanced AI models to improve security outcomes for all. OpenAI and Microsoft have worked closely for years, and we’re building on our partnership. Going forward, our teams will work even more closely to apply AI for defense. OpenAI will provide Microsoft with access to its most cyber capable models through Trusted Access for Cyber, and Microsoft is committed to bringing the full strength of its cybersecurity defense team to help OpenAI protect their models and infrastructure and defend our joint customers. We’re excited to keep raising the bar together and with others in the industry to help make the broader ecosystem, including open-source software, more secure.

Pull Requests on @GitHub can now be limited to repo collaborators or disabled entirely. This should help cut down on unwanted noise and give maintainers more control over their experience

Azure Arc runs in the dark by default.🌑 No alerts. No notifications. Nothing. Your Arc agents could be disconnected for weeks and you wouldn't know. Extensions failing? Silence. 🦗 Tags missing? Crickets. 🦗 Service principals expired? Total darkness. 🦗 Microsoft gives you the automation tools: → Azure Automation → Logic Apps → Functions But they don't tell you what to actually DO with them. And let's be honest: most teams don't have the maturity level or experience to figure it out. So I built what was missing: ✅ Tag compliance monitoring that creates Sentinel incidents when things are wrong ✅ MDE integration checks (because "extension installed" ≠ working) ✅ AD cross-reference to find what's NOT onboarded ✅ Service principal monitoring (expired credential = no new onboardings) These aren't theoretical. Complete deployment files. Implementation guides. Ready to use. Microsoft built the platform. I built the operational layer that makes it actually work. 🔧 Get the solutions: docs.kaidojarvemets.com/solu… #AzureArc #Automation #CloudOps
