If you are a sane, rational person who can perform simple maths and cares about the economy of their country and the future of the people within it, then you should be livid with the government this morning.
There is no part of the proposed EU reset terms, that you should be remotely happy about. The entire deal is giving the EU what it wants, and dressing it up as a benefit for the UK when it is anything but.
- Promising to not deport EU criminals
- Paying billions a year to build infrastructure in Eastern Europe
- Subsidizing EU students to study in the UK, costing hundreds of millions a year
- Putting UK laws in the control of the EU again, with no say at all from Parliament
- Adding hundreds of millions of costs onto imports from non-EU countries
- Making imported EV cars 30% more expensive, to help EU car manufacturers
- Giving 80-100,000 extra youth visas a year, increasing competition and driving down wages for our unemployed youth
- Stopping checks on imported agrifoods, increasing risk of diseases currently rampant in EU livestock entering the UK
All of this with the reason of making exporting food to the EU easier, which we do virtually none of and never did, as we are an island that consumes more than it produces.
It doesn't matter if you ultimately want to rejoin the EU or not. This isn't about that. This is about an atrocious deal and our atrocious government.
Fight this with everything you've got.

The government’s grandest plane, an A321 jet, took off from Stansted at 6.05 a.m. this morning. Burnham wasn't on it. It flew 34 minutes to Manchester to collect the PM, then set off for the Commonwealth summit in Antigua. Guido estimates the detour cost around £20,000 of taxpayer cash. Avanti not good enough for him?
Flight tracking data shows the jet landed in Manchester at 6.39 a.m. and left again at 8.06 a.m., heading for a refuelling stop in Newfoundland before the Caribbean. The government eventually publishes what every trip on the plane costs. Starmer’s same-day trip to Paris on in April came to £39,756 at roughly £20,000 a leg. Stansted to Manchester is shorter than Paris, but every additional leg brings its own landing and handling fees. About £18,000-20,000’s worth according to Guido’s fag packet maths…
The whole jaunt, there and back, comes to about 21 hours of flying. Based on Starmer’s £121,239 trip to Yerevan in May and Yvette Cooper’s £148,700 trip to Washington in December, long-haul flying on the plane costs between £9,500 and £12,400 an hour. That puts Burnham's full trip at about £250,000.
Burnham took the same government jet from Glasgow to Manchester in July to open No10 North, despite a choice of trains. When Liz Truss used the same plane to fly to Australia, @AngelaRayner called it a “ridiculous waste of half a million pounds on a private jet trip”. Thoughts on this one, Ange?

Today, Restore Britain has published our comprehensive veterans policy paper, A Home Fit for Heroes.
I want Britain to become a country that properly looks after the men and women who have served in our Armed Forces.
Our proposals are substantial.
We will establish a dedicated Department of Veterans' Affairs, headed by a Cabinet-level Secretary of State.
One department responsible for veterans' welfare, pensions, compensation, housing, healthcare and employment support.
Every local authority area will have access to a dedicated Veterans Officer. Someone who can actually get things done - one point of contact to simplify the process.
We will abolish NHS prescription and dental charges for qualifying veterans and their immediate families. Free eye tests and hearing tests, too. Where NHS dentistry is unavailable, we will fund private treatment.
Veterans will receive statutory priority for social housing - nobody who served this country should be left sleeping on our streets. NOBODY.
We will introduce funded retraining for veterans whose military qualifications are not recognised in civilian life, alongside lifelong employment support. We will also encourage recruitment of former servicemen and women into our police, emergency services, prisons and border services.
And importantly - immigration enforcement roles.
We will bring post-service pensions and compensation administration together under the new department.
Bereaved families will receive dedicated support, and we will introduce a funeral contribution for veterans whose deaths were not attributable to military service.
We will legislate to stop malicious legal proceedings against veterans who served. We will not tolerate endless legal harassment of our former servicemen and women - we will legally pursue those found to be engaging in vindictive complaints against our veterans.
We will also introduce a statutory Veterans Charter, giving qualifying veterans enforceable rights rather than leaving them dependent on goodwill.
As a party, we are sick of seeing veterans treated as an afterthought.
These people served our country. Some came home with life-changing injuries. Others lost friends, colleagues and years with their families.
They have done their duty to Britain. It is time Britain did its duty to them.
That is what a Restore Britain Government will deliver.

Very much a thing, with heavy development activity: github.com/quilibriumnetwork…
We also over the past year rolled out QConsole (our aws console equivalent for using api compatible services), with support for S3, KMS, SQS, SNS, IAM compatible services, as well as initiated a hard fork on the farcaster protocol with Hypersnap (for censorship resistant social media, which proved prescient given the actions of the new acquirer of Farcaster).
Quorum and Quorum Mobile has also seen a lot of active development, and our beta slots ran out for Android and are nearing running out for iOS due to demand.
In the past few months, Q itself has undergone a replacement of all non-quantum safe crypto, which also gave the protocol a nice speed boost.
It's been an uphill battle, but it's one I've remained committed to and one we are certain about winning.

balaji bought farcaster and banned all the builders so the best he got was bribing someone $2k to build a "client" (see screenshot)
meanwhile, we have over 20 clients on Hypersnap being built now with many already fully functioning replacements for farcaster and we're doing out of sheer passion.
your friends are on the fork.

This is one of the most illiberal, invasive and appalling pieces of legislation ever to come before Parliament.
The Conversion Practices Bill isn’t about preventing gay children from being abusively coerced into being straight. That is already rightly illegal.
It will criminalise well-intentioned conversations between parents and gender-confused children, discussions with therapists, and religious leaders sharing their faith’s teachings with their congregations.
A parent could face up to five years in prison simply for trying to dissuade their child from embarking on irreversible, dangerous and life-changing medical pathways before the age of 18.
In his letter to the pre-legislative scrutiny committee, the Minister for Equalities attempts to reassure us that the bill respects “freedom of religion and parental rights”.
It does no such thing.
So much for the Labour Government’s promise to tread more lightly on our lives. It is not the state’s role to dictate what conversations parents can have with their young children around the dinner table.
Parents know best — not ministers.

£687,758 taxpayer funding for "Child Protection in Pakistani Communities"
"Cross cutting knowledge will be used to develop further research in the UK on the subject. The city of Bradford has the largest proportion of people of Pakistani ethnic origin (20.3%) in England, making the region an appropriate space for this work to be developed within a UK context. The University of Bradford's Division of Social Work is connected to Bradford Social Services through partnership arrangements. Therefore, working together with the Local Authority, further research within the community alongside the learning from Pakistan will provide opportunities to develop best practice guidelines and responses to issues relating to the abuse of children who are from a Pakistani background." gtr.ukri.org/projects?ref=MR…

A San Francisco startup says it just turned mercury into real gold, and their own math says gold is one of the cheapest things their machine can make. Aim it at a different metal and it makes a cancer drug ingredient worth tens of billions of dollars a gram.
Here's how it works. When you fuse two kinds of hydrogen, deuterium and tritium, every single reaction kicks out a neutron moving at 14.1 MeV, which is absurdly fast. Fire one into mercury-198 and it knocks another neutron loose on the way through, so two come out and you're left with mercury-197. Give that a few days and it decays into gold-197, the only stable kind of gold there is. The whole trick needs neutrons above about 6 MeV, and regular nuclear reactors barely make those, while fusion makes one every time it fires.
Now swap the mercury for radium-226. Same reaction, one neutron in and two out, and you end up with radium-225, which decays into actinium-225. Novartis is building its next prostate cancer drug around actinium-225, and it's so scarce it sells by the millicurie, roughly $1,200 to $2,500 apiece. Price it by the gram and you're into the tens of billions of dollars, for a material so radioactive nobody could safely hold a gram of it anyway.
Marathon's team actually put a dollar value on a single fusion neutron in a paper this year. Use it to make electricity and it's worth about $3 × 10⁻²⁰. Gold comes in at $2.6 × 10⁻²⁰, basically a wash. Molybdenum-99, which goes into about 80% of nuclear medicine scans, is worth $2.6 × 10⁻¹⁷ a neutron. Actinium-225 is worth about $10⁻¹⁰, around 3 billion times what the electricity's worth.
That's why fusion people should care. Every fusion company you've heard of is chasing electricity, and selling electricity only pays once the plasma puts out something like 10 to 22 times the energy you pump in to heat it. The best result so far, at JET in England, was about a third. Add gold on the side and Marathon's math says you break even around 3x. For molybdenum-99, the number is 0.001x.
So a machine that gives back one-thousandth of the energy you feed it can still make money, as long as the neutrons hit the right metal.
By their numbers, a 3 megawatt machine running way below breakeven could cover the whole world's supply of molybdenum-99, which today comes from splitting uranium in a handful of research reactors. Today's experimental fusion machines already beat the gain that job needs.
Their second post basically says this out loud. Marathon now describes itself as an isotope company for radiopharma. Their chart shows roughly 390 targeted radiotherapy trials. Pluvicto, the prostate cancer drug Novartis launched at $42,500 a dose, did $1.9 billion in sales last year.
Gold still matters to them, just later. It's about a $700 billion a year market, and Marathon's paper figures it could soak up around 2 terawatts of fusion capacity, which is roughly the scale where fusion actually moves the grid. So the plan is to sell cancer isotopes out of small machines now and use gold to pay for the giant ones, years before electricity can pay for itself.
Last month, we demonstrated high-rate alchemy: turning mercury into real, stable gold, beating CERN’s record by a factor of 10.
Last week, we enriched isotopes in the world’s most powerful plasma centrifuge, beating the Soviet record that stood for 40 years.
Now, we’re building a fusion reactor in San Francisco to achieve record power density.

For background on the disgraceful actions of MoD, Trolley and Wally and Starmer et al, the whole stinking crew of SW1 NPCs, watch Jaycal on Shawn Ryan show.
Our government is much more dangerous than ‘Putin’, our own MPs and officials are driving the country into crisis, security and financial and spiritual and constitutional.
The stinking Tories supported the worst lawyers in Whitehall never forget that. Which is a reason you never see Kemi-kasi campaign on this issue.
They’ll all babble ‘Slava Ukraine prepare for war with Russia’ to distract from their deliberate undermining of our own borders and importing of jihadis.
This country needs to focus on reversing the vandalising of our own forces by our own rancid political parties, not babbling Slava Ukraine about a moronic war the useless NPCs keep escalating - a war between two KGB-mafia networks we stumbled ignorantly and foolishly into because the west’s political class were programmed by university to be clowns.

The murder inquiry outlasted the premierships of Johnson, Truss, Sunak, Starmer so Qs not limited to one PM or party — as for the current administration, @wesstreeting confirmed last night he will *not* meet the SAS men involved or their lawyers.
Per sources, this is because some have submitted complaints to military police.
I assume this reflects the fact defence secretary also oversees military law enforcement — a tension that apparently meant the MoD was unable to give any meaningful comment or view on the whole affair.
That includes SAS men sent out of helicopters into nighttime battle against ISIS 48 hours after police interviews, and having homes raided and murder allegation raised before families.
