A majority of Greenland's lawmakers have now signaled SUPPORT for an agreement that could give the U.S. two new military bases and a foothold for its GOLDEN DOME missile defense system.
And Greenland gets something important in return: recognition of its right to self-determination, alongside continued Danish sovereignty.
Not everyone is happy, though.
Opposition lawmakers are asking why Washington gets extensive military rights without guaranteeing Greenland a single dollar in compensation.
The government argues that American protection is worth far more than any payment.
Quite a turnaround from Trump's earlier threats to take the island.
