The high pollution levels today appear to largely originate from Germany and Poland, both countries large consumers of coal.
Easterly winds in recent days have transported it westwards. Germany’s decision to close all nuclear plants is worsening air quality all over Europe. Thanks Germany!
Cleaner Arctic air will arrive tomorrow….

Feeling deficient in vitamin D at the moment?
Hardly surprising - take a look at how little sunshine some have seen over the last 11 days, compared to the sunniest place in eastern Scotland.

Very useful explainer from Sky News on the various elements of demography in the UK.
We are in the Peak District for the Y12 fieldwork skills trip to help prepare pupils get ready for their NEAs and IAs.
Y13 A Level pupils have been exploring global shipping patterns as a way to investigate patterns of globalisation and the process of containerisation.
Extraordinary number of ships at #singapore. All bunched up here because of Red Sea disruption to shipping and shifts in way things are being shipped. Fascinating. This is where commerce and geo politics come face to face
