Are you attending the #UNFSS+4? We invite you to join our special session “The power of #IndigenousPeoples’ #FoodSystems: A call for action and partnerships across
coalitions and beyond”. The session will showcase Indigenous-led innovations shaping food futures from the ground up, highlighting how we have long led sustainable food systems rooted in knowledge, culture & reciprocity with nature. This is an invitation to hear from us and partner to work along us.
"When Indigenous communities design climate innovations or map water sources using tools like the #NamunyakApp they are not just adapting—they are creating solutions grounded in relational resilience: collective action, intergenerational knowledge & a shared sense of purpose"

#Resilience isn’t just about bouncing back—it’s about growing stronger together ❤️🌍
In my latest article, I explore how #Indigenous knowledge, human connection & tools like #satellite imagery can transform #climateResilience

The momentum to transform food systems is unstoppable.
At #COP29, @gmunozabogabir, High-Level Climate Champion for COP25, joined over 300 stakeholders—farmers, Indigenous Peoples, businesses, and civil society—in endorsing the Food Systems Call to Action. Together, they highlighted the urgency of sustainable transformation to meet climate, nature, and people’s needs.
As we move toward #COP30 in Brazil, the focus shifts to implementation. With milestones like the @UNCCD COP on land restoration and drought resilience, the global community must unite for resilient and equitable food systems.

ALT California’s San Joaquin River experienced dramatic swelling during a series of atmospheric rivers in early 2023. The storms caused widespread flooding over farmlands in the Central Valley. River discharge went up by 380% to 14,000 cubic feet per second. OPERA Surface Water Extent data were consistent with in situ discharge gauge data and satellite images on the right. Georgina’s MSc research on wildfire risk around Indigenous communities in the context of BC’s complex legal objectives (MDWR and OGMAs) is much-needed, and she absolutely crushed her defence today! Really looking forward to seeing this work come out. 🔥
Super excited to say that I passed my defense today. This research would not have been possible without the support & permission from @canoecreekband, my fabulous exam committee, the @LoriDanielsUBC lab group, & my family & friends. Stay tuned for a final version of my thesis🔥🌲
