@GenomicsCow

Original and probably disagreeable perspectives on genomics. Not sure when I'm joking and when I'm being serious. Opinions my own, not the herd’s.

#Genomics on social media is mainstream. Kinda boring. Don't follow the herd

But this is just 1️⃣ niche and their growth prospects rely on this playbook working in other fields Quanterix tried the field-wide sensitivity play, yes with limited plex, but had to narrow down into the neuro niche because that’s where it fit

This is foreboding for Alamar. Their stance on sensitivity only matters if they can demonstrate others cannot keep up AND this matters. What can they prove outside of neuro that Quanterix couldn’t? 🐄

X sucks the least for me. TikTok is actually pretty great as a female creator. YouTube is all my content so audience is nice LinkedIn is 90% AI trash Facebook is hell Reddit is hell but thanks for the training data Threads I should probably not ignore Bluesky kill me I would build a data center just for the pure joy of triggering ppl there

AGBT27 calls for sponsors this week!🚨 Remember that sponsoring - Shows how healthy you’re feeling - Is like the preprint equivalent of product launches - Isn’t about your science but connections to influencers, press, and industry analysts

Clinician: I don’t read papers. Is it in clinical guidelines? PI: what peer-reviewed journal is it in? I only read preprints if I’m an author Vendor marketing: Here’s our white paper. But if you want a deep dive on validation here’s the biorxiv link 🐮

If companies ever develop a successful medical DTC that isn’t part of standard testing They’ll get shut down or shunned anyway Leave the naive work to the tech bros impatient to get things done
Life science tool shows diagnostic potential! So let's do a direct-to-consumer medical test! You can't seriously do DTC until . . . 🧵 1/2 Your product could actually exist as a clinical test. You cannot expect to skip years of validation and expect a business to take off

Your test could cost more money by screening ppl earlier (to save 💰 later), but this isn't an easy argument to attain reimbursement for

If you want to do DTC ... Get someone else to take on the risk Look for tech bro's, ppl with access to funding to waste, they talk with language like "digital twin" and "AI". If they succeed, sell them the tools. If they don't, make sure they pay their outstanding invoices! 🐄
