When a Muslim expresses ideas that are narrow, bigoted, radical, extremist, secessionist and fascist etc. we should calmly nod our heads and say "hmm interesting, let's engage with this "political thinker"; but when a Hindu nationalist expresses the same ideas we should promptly say "chal phut sanghi kahinka"!
Wah re hypocrisy!

I once got an acquittal for a guy who grabbed his wife by the hair, slapped her, and then fired a revolver next to her head… and then threw her out of the trailer and fired another round in the air outside of the trailer…
because he was trying to watch the Super Bowl and she wouldn’t stop nagging him.
I tried the case because there was no plea deal even offered. Two felonies, both with mandatory 10 years and no parole. Nothing to lose…
After the wife testified at trial, being particularly nasty to me on cross examination, the jury apparently sympathized with my client, who had been married to her for decades, and just like that… set him free. Even the judge couldn’t believe it.
That trailer is still sitting there - now abandoned - on the side of US 219 and you can still see the bullet hole in the wall.

Citrini Therapeutics just showed Claude designing proteins to bind scorpion toxins in lab tests. Here's what you need to know.
Citrini, a research firm, spent 3 months working with Anthropic's internal research model to see if it could create an experimental scorpion antivenom. They say they wanted to separate hype from reality on what AI can really do in bio. The post has passed 267K views.
The team picked antivenoms after two passes of screening, and scorpion antivenom won. They asked Claude for minibinders, small proteins that bind a target protein like a toxin. Claude launched more than 300 agents, ran the research, and designed 211 proteins in 64 hours. The designs went to Twist Bioscience and Adaptyv Bio for testing. Hunterbrook joined the effort and tested the designs in two labs.
The lab results: 17 of the 211 designs were validated binders against five scorpion toxins. The designs were 60 single-toxin designs, 30 aimed at the two beta-family toxins, and 30 at the three alpha-family toxins. Anthropic also released the dataset on Hugging Face.
There are caveats. Binding was measured against recombinant toxins, not toxin purified from venom. Further work is needed to confirm the results. Binding in a test tube is also not a working drug. Researchers say the hard part is still mouse, dog, and monkey studies, since getting a good binder is not so difficult now. Hunterbrook says the model was unreleased and ran without all its usual biosecurity guardrails. Critics noted that the Wall Street team lacks the biosecurity measures required of typical bio researchers.
Markets noticed too. Citrini named Charles River Laboratories ($CRL) and Revvity ($RVTY) as likely beneficiaries of AI-driven drug discovery.
Key numbers:
- 3 months of work with Anthropic's internal research model
- 300+ agents launched by Claude
- 211 protein designs in 64 hours
- 17 validated binders against 5 scorpion toxins
- 39 days for lab results, versus 4 to 7 years for a typical drug release
This is early lab work, with animal studies still ahead.
What is AI really capable of in bio?
To separate hype from reality, we spent 3 months working firsthand with @AnthropicAI's internal research model to see if it could create an experimental scorpion antivenom.

I really don't think it can be overstated how dumb it was for Republicans to denigrate the Indian community. They have the highest median household income in the US. They're the most educated. They commit almost no crime.
*That's* who you want to insult out of your coalition?
I just cast my ballot for James Talarico.
As a second-generation Indian American, I am thoroughly disgusted by the xenophobia, racial resentment, and increasingly brazen attacks on my identity. My family has contributed to the American story through hard work, sacrifice, and an unwavering belief in the opportunities this nation promises. I am every bit as American as anyone else, and I will not tolerate being treated as a perpetual foreigner in the country I call home.
I implore every eligible Texan to get out and vote. This election is about the kind of state and country we are prepared to defend—and the principles we refuse to surrender.

I usually don't retweet stuff from @mattyglesias, but I reposted this because:
a) it's funny;
b) it's spot-on; and
c) I am just so sick of the anti-Indian cr*p from members of my party. And I say that as a guy who's been CALLED a racist by liberals for 30 years for standing up for the LEGITIMATE concerns of white (and other) working-class Americans about social disfunction.
But let me put this bluntly: if you're upset because members of a minority group are LITERALLY whipping your kids' asses and taking their lunch money, I'm on your side, and I don't care how many liberals call us "racist" for it. But if you're upset because members of a minority group are whipping your kids' asses on the SAT, you ARE a racist--and probably a dumb one too, since, as the "racial realists" tell us, intelligence is hereditary.

This post blew up, and some people deny this story because they don’t understand how drastically different the male and female mind work when it comes to intrasexual competition and social dynamics.
Men tend to resolve things through physical violence because it’s the ultimate way to make a point come across. It’s natural since men have testosterone and a superior strength. When a man is stronger in a fight, it can’t be denied, the result is blatant and overt. It’s why men have an easier time accepting hierarchy than women, who, when given the chance, tend to prefer for decisions to be based on a socialized system and a consensus rather than a hierarchy of qualified, chosen leaders.
Women don’t have the testosterone pushing them to physically fight nor the superior strength. Does that make women less violent? No, it just means women can’t be violent in the same way as men. Women attempt to fix things through emotional manipulation, which has its use at times, especially when trying to protect children going through hard and traumatic times. But not when it comes to leadership outside of the family, which is why female leaders tend to be a massive failures.
When this emotional manipulation is aimed in a way to hurt someone, that’s where the violence comes in. Women are not violent through punches (for the most part). Women are violent through psychological abuse; trying to bring someone’s self esteem down, character assassination, and just generally leading someone into their own demise.
Women have a desire for destruction just as much as men, it’s just not physical, and that’s how women get away with much of this psychological manipulation; plausible deniability.
Men can’t deny giving out a punch to a man, but women can deny that the reason why they give bad advice to women is for the sake of destroying their life.
This becomes a big problem when you build a society that relentlessly promotes the idea that men need to check their violence while it neglects to do the same for the unchecked emotional abuse of women.
There’s many examples we all know of that indicate that this failure to check female emotions is nothing but destructive, even more destructive than a punch in the face.
Story time!
By the time I was in 5th grade, I had grown my hair to be very long, all the way to my hips. It was my mom that made me grow my hair that long. Up until that time, I never really cared about my hair or my looks so I never gave it much thought. None of my friends ever commented about it in any way.
Then I got to middle school. We all hit puberty. Suddenly, my friends were telling me that my hair was too long and that I would look better with shorter hair. I distinctly remember that one of the girls who would tell me this had long hair herself, mine just happened to be longer.
One day in 7th grade, as I was walking out of the school cafeteria after lunch, a girl tapped me on my shoulder and asked “is that your hair?” as she pointed towards the floor. I was confused and didn’t know what she meant until I looked down and saw a lock of hair of about 3-4 inches just lying there. I asked her, “Whose hair is that?” and she said, “Yours.” I looked at my hair that was in a braid, and sure enough, a chunk was cut and missing.
I was shocked until I heard a laugh behind me. It was one of my “friends”, she was laughing out loud with a pair of scissors in her hand. She thought it was hilarious. Of course, I was very hurt. The ends of my hair were uneven for months (I didn’t want to cut it so I just waited until it grew back).
Anyways, girls commenting about how much better I’d look with shorter hair continued throughout my entire adolescence. Female intrasexual competition is 100% real, it starts out very young, and it is vicious. A lot of times women don’t even realize that they’re doing it. The jealousy and desire to bring a woman down in order to bring themselves up comes naturally for many.
Any woman that isn’t being dishonest and that grew up with women will confirm that. You don’t really need a study to know this, but in this case this study is based on reality.

What I call “The Candy Bowl Problem” is the reason why Indians, who almost no one in the our country thought about 25 years ago, are increasingly hated.
During Halloween, kiddos go door-to-door saying "trick or treat" and receive candy. Sometimes, a person isn't home and so they leave a bowl of candy on their front porch.
When you come across the porch candy bowl, what do you do? We Americans mostly know the implicit morality to take ONE piece of candy. Some folks will come across the candy bowl and immediately dump the entire bowl into their bag!
Indians keep taking from the candy bowl. They're mistaking a vulnerability for an opportunity. It’s a low trust/scarcity mentality, no doubt.
But… the candy bowl isn't an opportunity. It's a morality test that Indians are currently failing.
All of the diploma mills, scammer job placement firms, and HR kickbacks, and people who max out their credit cards before leaving (never intending to pay it back), are perceived in India as capitalizing on an opportunity but to us, they're exploiting a vulnerability. You're taking the candy bowl and we HATE people who do that.
A lot of Indians are confused and angered by the criticism because they actually expect to be praised for being so clever. They think what they're doing is good and maybe even admirable. To us Americans though, it's immoral.
Vulnerabilities are NOT opportunities. Not in our nation. This is the most important lesson to learn before coming here, or to any high trust society. The new generation of Indians aren't interested in this in part because their entire education system is built for job skills and not life skills. The remnants of this are even visible in Americans of all low trust ancestral cultures.
Morality and ethics occupy less than 2% of the pre-college education in India. This is half of what it is in most of the world and 1/5 what it is in America. Nearly every high school in the country requires a course on civics (how to be a good citizen). In fact, in Gurgaon (India’s Silicon Valley, now white folk are inspiring civic sense and city clean up)!
The only reason India isn't the wealthiest nation on Earth is because its people spend too much time looking to dump the candy bowl into their bag and not enough time trying to build trust.
Anti-Indian sentiment isn't a racism problem. It's not skin color or even religion. It's because instead of learning about and respecting American morality, y’all just keep looking for candy bowls to take from!

However, far too many of you behave like trash, and do not show any sign of interest in assimilating and behaving better. So I want most of you gone.
No hatred is required for me to arrive at this judgment.
