When Trump withdrew American support from Ukraine in 2025 and Europe stepped up, he thought he was handing Putin the advantage. Instead, Ukraine has increasingly demonstrated its ability to hold the line and reclaim territory, while Russia continues to pay an extraordinary price for remarkably little progress.
Now Zelensky reports that Ukrainian forces have liberated more territory since the beginning of autumn than Russia has managed to capture.
Ukraine gained Europe as its increasingly important partner. Russia gained Donald Trump the loser.
The trend this year continues – since the start of fall, our warriors have liberated more territory than the Russians have managed to capture. The same was true at other points this year. We continue to press the Russians at the front.
Dobropillia, Kostiantynivka, Oleksiievo-Druzhkivka, Orikhiv, Novopavlivka, Novoandriivka, and Velykomykhailivka are all under Ukrainian control. We are also defending the areas near Kramatorsk and destroying Russian forces 20 kilometers from Zaporizhzhia, not 5, as someone over there in Russia is snowing Putin.
Our front is strong, and I thank every warrior and every one of our units that is carrying out its tasks in full.

Recent experience shows that any major domestic crisis in Western democracies can become a target for Russian hybrid and information operations.
I see the Kremlin and its propaganda channels routinely exploiting public discontent to deliberately fuel radicalism, undermine trust in the authorities, and promote anti-European narratives. French society must remain vigilant against these manipulations on social media, which are aimed at dividing the country.

🇵🇱 NEW: Poland is preparing to develop its own alternative to Elon Musk’s Starlink, potentially in cooperation with other European countries.
Deputy Defence Minister Cezary Tomczyk revealed today that:
• Initial offers have already been received.
• Funding has been secured, according to the minister.
• The proposed technical architecture is being planned.
• A formal project announcement could come within the next few months.
The system would initially serve Poland’s military, followed by security services, government institutions and potentially the wider European market.
The announcement comes amid controversy over restrictions on Starlink and Starshield services used by Ukraine.
Tomczyk argued that Poland cannot remain dependent on a single individual controlling critical communications infrastructure.
Importantly, the project remains in the planning stage. No operational satellite network or final contract has been announced.

As a Romanian living in France, what I witnessed this weekend was not a typical French protest. Having called France my home long enough to see my share of street movements, I can tell when a line has been crossed.
Burning cars, trash cans, looting, street blockades, and clashes with police are, unfortunately, routine. What is new is the direct targeting of symbolic civic and cultural institutions. The sheer intensity of violence between demonstrators and the state signals a dangerous shift, yet the reaction online is a collective shrug.
Dismissing this as "standard French riot" is a mistake. It blinds us to how legitimate domestic anger is being actively leveraged by foreign hybrid operations (including russia).
Outside actors are injecting radical anti-military slogans and polarizing anti-immigration rhetoric into the public debate around student marches, weaponizing digital polarization to split society ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
France has rarely felt this divided. This is no longer just local turmoil, and its fallout won't end at the French border.

Russia is rapidly upgrading its long-range attack drones, moving from slow, piston-engined models to high-speed jet-powered munitions like the Geran-5.
The drastic increase in speed makes these new models significantly harder for Ukrainian forces to intercept using conventional mobile air defense teams, pushing Ukraine and its defense partners to race to develop new jet-powered interceptors.

There's progress at last — Romanian F-16s are shooting down Russian Geran-5 small cruise missiles over the Black Sea. Perhaps one day they'll realize it's better to do this over Crimea or near Taganrog, rather than over their own territory.
The first missile was shot down at 6:01 PM southeast of Sulina, after spending two minutes in Romanian airspace. The second was intercepted at 6:05 PM east of the city, after flying over Romania for five minutes.
