In this episode, I’ll share the sad, personal story behind why I just sold a big chunk of one of my best dividend growth stocks and moved it into an income ETF that pays me materially more cash flow right now.

In this episode, I'll look at why Clorox’s dividend yield just climbed to a massive 6ish%, and I'll explain what went wrong, what's going right, and where I think things will go from here. And stick with me, because later I’ll show you some of its dividend history, which reveals a blind spot a lot of dividend investors have, and it could apply to stocks you own right now.

Social Security sets its 2027 COLA increase at 3.6%. I just hope it's all there by the time I can actually collect mine :P Then again, as my grandmother used to say, "if horses were wishes, beggars would ride." I'm not sure she liked me.

Goldman Sachs (4.07% of my portfolio is $GS) beats on GAAP EPS of $17.01 vs $13.09 and beats on revenue of $18.68B vs $16.89B. So far the market seems happy.

Johnson & Johnson (6.15% of my portfolio is $JNJ) beats on non-GAAP EPS of $2.59 vs $2.53, is inline on revenue of $25.4B, and raises full year EPS guidance, and is still working to separate its orthopaedics business, possibly through a sale rather than a spin-off. So far the market is annoyed, pushing the stock down...

In this episode I'll show you how my dividend portfolio in Fidelity just hit a new all time record of $175,000 of passive dividend income a year, which is about $14,500 a month or $480 a day.
I'll also tell you about a dividend hike that was just announced this week, which was honestly pretty weak, but then I'll share something about that company that really excites me.
Finally, I'll answer a question I just got on my free dividend discord about how much I pay in taxes on my income, so stay tuned for that.

I might call it a sin stock for fun, but when that quarterly dividend hits the account, it feels downright virtuous. Happy $MO payout day to all who celebrate!
Pepsi (2.47% of my portfolio is $PEP) beats on non-GAAP EPS of $2.34 vs $2.30 and beats on revenue of $25.27B vs $24.96B but cuts full-year non-GAAP EPS growth while raising net revenue guidance.

Starbucks does a token 1.61% dividend hike -- looks like folks were right to think it would be small ;)

Ok, I'm super excited (both as a consumer & shareholder) to hear that the Starbucks Thanksgiving panini is coming back Nov. 5th! My whole fam is obsessed with it and we used to look forward to getting them during the holidays -- can't wait to try out the new recipe!

Hey @McDonalds, as a longtime $MCD shareholder, I ask you to consider changing NEXT to RETRO.
R: Remodels. Take us back to the 1950s with massive golden arches, bold neon, 50s music, and vintage uniforms. Older guests get pure nostalgia, younger generations get a unique space worth sharing, and no competitor can touch your heritage.
E: Eats. Simplify the recipes. Remember when your world famous fries were made with just a few ingredients we could actually pronounce? Return to real ingredients across the menu and brag about it.
T: Team. Hire & train for friendliness and attentiveness. That's how McDonald's used to feel, and it's partly why Chick-fil-A wins today. Friendly & attentive people beat a kiosk every time.
R: Rock-bottom prices. Drop everyday menu prices right on the board. The app can add perks, but nobody should need it to get a great price. Be the undisputed value king again.
O: Onward. I think lower profit margins during the transition are fine if that allows us to regain & keep our customers and win over the long run.
In this episode I'll show you how to create your own pension using SCHD, because most people don't have one anymore, and even if you do, I'll explain why you'd still want to build your own. And sorry if my voice is a bit off, but I'm fighting a cold I got after going down to the Mr Olympia competition in Vegas, so stay tuned until the end if you'd like to see some pics and movies of it.
