⚖️ Balancing politics & parenthood
Using conjoint experiments in the UK 🇬🇧, @Jess_Smith1534 finds that voters do not punish MPs that take parental leave. In fact, voters prefer women MPs who take leave after having children

Excited to see my article 'Balancing Politics and Parenthood' in @EJPRjournal is out.
In a UK study, I find that the public do not punish MPs for taking parental leave. In fact, for women there is some electoral advantage.

Thanks to all that came to our @psaepop Women in the Discipline Breakfast...
Beforehand we asked some senior women what useful advice they received (or wished they received) in their career.. some useful insights 🧵👇

A piece of advice we got in this small survey that I really liked was "it takes a community to build an academic".
With that in mind I recommend joining @PSAWomenPol or @GenElect_Net (although I am biased as I convene both of these groups...)

New data shows that Americans feel less confident that the US is ready to elect a woman president than they did in 2015. In @ConversationUK, I explore reasons for this & explain how Kamala Harris can counter gendered stereotypes and sexist attacks.
