Let’s talk about a double standard, shall we?
An RCMP officer takes her service pistol home — already a problem in itself — and has an accidental discharge into a neighbour's home while allegedly cleaning it.
And what happens? Apparently not much.
She reportedly giggles about it. No apology. No apparent admission of wrongdoing. And, from what we saw, the whole thing essentially gets swept under the rug until the victims make enough noise that the media finally picks it up.
Eventually, something happens.
Now compare that with some random bozo who accidentally shoots himself while doing maintenance on his firearm.
Actual accidental discharge. Nobody else hurt. Dumb? Absolutely.
7 Firearms charges on the man - he will probably never be allowed to legally own another firearm in his life.
And it's IMMEDIATELY national news...
