“What do you like better, Christmas or Wedding season?”
This is awesome 😂
This sounds insane until you’ve been on enough date nights where you spend $250 to discuss the kids’ schedules in a different building.
The backstory is pretty great!
A married couple in San Diego wanted to get dressed up and go to a wedding. Problem was, they’d reached the age where nobody they knew was getting married anymore.
So they built a website where you can buy tickets to strangers’ weddings.
And the economics actually make sense.
The couple getting married has already committed to a venue minimum. Someone cancels. Now there’s an empty chair and a dinner they’re paying for either way.
Meanwhile, another couple would happily pay to eat, dance, have some cake and watch a best man make a series of increasingly questionable decisions with a microphone.
The hosts approve the guests. Guests verify their IDs. Everybody agrees to the arrangement.
Which is arguably more vetting than your cousin’s new boyfriend received.
Apparently one bride said the paying strangers brought so much energy to the dance floor that she wished she’d invited more.
Of course they did. Those people specifically bought tickets to be there. Half your actual guests are attending under a treaty negotiated between their mothers.
I love businesses like this. Find something people already paid for but can’t fully use. Find someone else who wants it. Make the introduction.
This guy just wanted to take his wife dancing and accidentally identified a liquidity problem in the wedding market.
Cue Vince Vaughn!

Let’s go!!!!
This is why I think it's more than possible for @ZachLahn to still win this gubernatorial election in Iowa. Undecided voters are consistently breaking for him over @RobSandIA by massive margins each night.
@hinsonashley is also winning leaners over @turek4iowa by a fairly significant margin. But nowhere near this much.
Hinson's technically closer before the lean, but her race also features Libertarian @Laehn4Iowa, who is drawing significant support from 2024 Trump defectors who refuse to say for whom they voted.
GOP internals show the same where there are third-party candidates, to include the president's own pollster. So, I don't really want to hear the nonsense.
He's been steadily chipping away as the money flows and the deal closes. His issue is the same that all Republicans have.
Can he get this disaffected group of voters to vote? Tagging @SteveDeaceShow because I know he talks to local pollsters and he might be interested in this.

Roughly 4,000 more Dems have cast early ballots compared to 2022. Roughly 40,000 fewer have requested absentee ballots. Republicans are up on both fronts. Blue wave? I ain’t seeing it.
Iowa had its first day of early voting yesterday. Submitted ballots were D+27 by party registration.
In 2022, first-day ABEV ballots were D+11.
And in 2024, it was D+7.

🤦That time when the Democrat candidate for governor shows he really doesn’t know what he’s talking about.

As we wait for Marist, a note on their approach vs Emerson. Both are text heavy and text is seeing sky-high Dem over-compliance vs other contact methods. Emerson matches text respondents back to the last name on the file. Marist, to my knowledge, doesn’t. That’s causing the skew.

Let’s do a little math here since apparently all the “independent” fact-checkers have the day off.
Rob has made about $800k as auditor.
That’s about $575k in take home.
He’s PERSONALLY contributed more than $435k to democrat candidates and committees since he’s been auditor.
Which would leave him with about $17,500 a year or $336 a week.
I don’t think that covers the monthly G-Wagon payment.
Strange post.
A liberal fact check says:
“You’re wrong, @RobSandIA wants to raise middle-class taxes by $3500 a year NOT $7500”.
Both sides agree: Rob is a liberal that wants to raise taxes.
No, I do not support raising taxes $7,500. That's just my opponent lying to your face like political operatives do.

ALT Image showing a fact-checking graphic. A grayscale photo of Zach Lahn is on the left. Text reads: "Rob Sand does not support reversing Iowa’s tax cuts." Below, a quote states: "The combined tax savings from the state and federal tax cuts Lahn’s ad pointed to came to about $3,500 for an average household, not $7,500." At the bottom, text states: "We rate Lahn’s statement FALSE." Source cited as Politifact - September 17, 2026.
I remember as a Lions fan hearing people say Matt Stafford wasn't actually that great, he was just a "good stats bad team" guy. Very happy to see the rest of the world now come to regard him the way we always did in Detroit. Just sorry it couldn't happen with the Lions.
🚨 Rob Sand claims that he has no other income outside of his state salary.
Rob's salary is $103,000 a year. But, since becoming Auditor, he has personally donated over half a million dollars to Democrats.
Rob doesn't want the people of Iowa to know his real net worth because they would learn that he's a billionaire trying to buy another election.

This is the most infamously heretical church in Des Moines and of course @RobSandIA belongs to it. James Talarico could be pastor there, when he’s not suffering from the flu, of course.

When I show Barry Sanders to my nephews, they almost can't believe the guy existed. That's how different he seems from literally any other runner they've ever seen.
