Colts assistant general manager Ed Dodds will lead the team’s personnel department for the rest of the season, sources tell @ringer @netflixsports. A candidate for several GM jobs in recent years, Dodds now takes over a 2-4 Colts roster with 22 days to the trade deadline. Coach Shane Steichen and the football staff outside of personnel will report to ownership.

On a human standpoint Ballard is a great dude. He carries many admirable qualities strictly in being a human on this earth. I unfortunately do believe some of those traits made it harder to conduct business in a business like way. Colts players, staff member and fans deserve more

Jalen Hurts was told by doctors not to sleep after his initial diagnosis of a superficial blood clot while in London. Hurts stayed awake for roughly 36 hours before starting against the Jaguars. (per @TomPelissero)

Chris Ballard is one of the genuinely good people in football. But as strange as it may sound, I think his loyalty, belief in people and kindness sometimes worked against him. The #Colts went all-in last year after starting 8-2 by trading two 1st-round picks for Sauce Gardner, then gave a massive deal to Daniel Jones off a torn Achilles. It has not worked so far.
