The reactions to this post are quite amusing. Am not sure whether the OP doesn't understand that complimentary is correct (as in free), or just making a joke about lockers being polite. But so many think it should be 'complementary'. 😅🙄
I posted this from the airport yesterday and since nobody got it, I am going to give it another go because it really is quite funny and I know you can do better. COMPLIMENTARYLOCKERS: “Oh well done, sir. Nice choice of luggage. And might I add, for someone who is out and about this early in the morning you are looking absolutely fabulous.“ Come on now people, don’t let me down.

Was #DenisHowell the best politician for getting the job done? Only a few days after his appointment as Minister for Drought in 1976, it rained. And rained. And rained. I think we need him now!!

I weep when I think of the girls in Afghanistan now being denied the education they deserve. At least Victorian British men were supportive of their womenfolk's endeavours to ensure girls were educated & could fulfil their potential. #women'shistory

Hi Jack, I’m 65, and two nights ago I realised, yet again, that I had done no revision whatsoever for the imminent physics A Level I never even took in the first place.

Where would we be without women who campaigned for girls to be educated? They started schools, raised money for them, & taught both girls & boys, shaping them for future life. Education wasn't 'a given' in 19th-century Britain #InternationalWomensDay pen-and-sword.co.uk/Shaping-…

Just started listening to/watching a video by @Miss_Snuffy & was struck by the similarities of her struggle to open a school with those women who pushed for good education over 150 yrs ago! Some things never change! pen-and-sword.co.uk/Shaping-…

So many hours of research, distilling that research & then writing about the incredible trailblazing women who made girls' education something we now take for granted went into this book. It was a labour of love & I'm delighted to be able to share it at last! #WomensHistory

#OTD in 1835 the amazing Mary Eliza Porter was born. She studied at Queen's College London before taking over a school for governesses in Tiverton in late 1850s. From there she opened a school in Gateshead, then was 1st head at Keighley, then Chelsea, then @BGGSchool #herstory

#OTD 150 yrs ago, @BGGSchool was officially opened by Lady Lucy Cavendish. The local MP wisely noted that the happiness & success of men depended on women & asked, 'was there a subject more interesting to the advancement & prosperity of the nation, than the education of women?'

#OTD 150 yrs ago, Bradford Girls' Grammar School @BGGSchool opened its doors to 112 girls, excited at the prospect of receiving a 1st-class secondary education for the 1st time. They'd only expected 60 to enrol, so had to recruit more trained schoolmistresses.

104 yrs ago this week, Margaret Wintringham (née Longbottom) became the 1st British-born woman to be elected as an MP. She was born in 1879 in W. Yorks, trained as a teacher, became head of a primary school in Grimsby, but had to give up teaching on marriage in 1903 #HERstory
