If Al Gore was president in 2000 we would all be enjoying free solar electricity right now like Australia is.
If Bernie Sanders won in 2016 we would all be enjoying Free Healthcare like Norway.
Instead we have an orange pedophile grifting himself 7 billion of our tax dollars.

Two pictures:
1. Nigel Farage pointing and laughing as the pound crashed after Britain voted to leave the EU.
2. Crispin Odey’s £220m profit after investing £873k in Vote Leave campaign groups.
If you still think Brexit was a good idea then you are a fucking moron.

They’ve been dumping shit in the rivers for six years and the punishment is a fine smaller than the CEO’s annual bonus. We get the sewage and the price rises, they get the dividends. It fucking stinks, in more ways than one.
South West Water (SWW) has been fined almost £8m for hundreds of sewage spillages across Devon and Cornwall over a six-year period.

Nine hours later, we just left A&E.
Huge shout out to the NHS.
I will always hate what the Conservatives did to underfund the NHS - and I say that as a former Conservative voter.
And I will hate Labour too if they don't start investing in the NHS properly: more doctors, nurses, staff, capacity.
Over the 9 hours in A&E I watched so many people suffering unnecessarily for such long times. Sorry, but this is not normal, nor should it ever be normal.
Shame on the Conservatives for withdrawing NHS capacity, and shame on Labour for not fixing it, so far: still not hiring enough doctors and nurses.
What's the point of a stonking great majority if you're going to sit on your hands, continue the privatisation of the NHS and fail to deliver a decent service?
Thank you to all of the NHS staff who calmly and professionally went from patient to patient. #SaveOurNHS

Those that run the laundering operations also run the country - they wanted Brexit because it prevented EU laws limiting their business.
They want civil unrest because it distracts from them.
They control the flow of capital, so they favour the oligarchs and we are expected to deal with ever decreasing standards of living.
No government will deal with this because they feed from the same trough.

Someone is literally posting on the Flu page saying they lost their taste and smell last March like it is a mystery.
They are now at 6 months later, asking for any tips to bring it back.
Tip #1:
It was Covid.
Loosing smell/taste is the Covid signature move, and in this case it was the spring variant BA.3.2 edition.
Tip #2: You cannot sweep it off the floor and call it all gone. It doesn’t work that way. 😭

People don't understand why our world is the way it is.
So let me explain.
In the 1960's and 1970's Rupert Murdoch and his group of Far Right billionaires wanted to own the whole world.
But countries still owned many things and they weren't for sale.
So Rupert Murdoch got Ronald Reagan and Margaret Thatcher and a whole other bunch of Right Wing Privatisation ghouls elected to sell everything to them.
You are now living in the result of a world owned by these evil billionaires, and the only solution is take back all the things they should never have been allowed to steal.
Well, this is an utter shit show.
@andyburnham you better get your health secretary on to this.
What an utter disgrace. @NHS

The irony of Laura Kuenssberg presenting cheap flights, mobile phones and online shopping as some kind of fair exchange for forty years of neoliberalism, privatisation and globalisation is hard to miss.
Britain didn’t go wrong because we lacked mobile phones and online shopping. We went wrong because we sold the country off.
I’ll call out Burnham as quickly as any other politician when he deserves it. But on this, he’s right: Britain took a wrecking ball to itself in the 1980s. Power was centralised, industry hollowed out, public assets sold off and whole communities were left carrying the bill for decades.
He could have added that the same economic model marched straight through the Blair years and every government that followed. That would have been the full truth.
Instead Kuenssberg reaches for the establishment’s oldest response to decline: shut up and eat your gruel, you don’t know how lucky you are.
“But we got cheap flights, mobile phones, home working and online shopping.”
That is a spectacularly thin defence of forty years of economic vandalism. A cheaper holiday and next-day delivery are no compensation for selling off council housing, privatising the utilities, closing industry and handing essential infrastructure to shareholders.
And those mobile phones rather prove the point. Britain consumes them, but doesn't make them.
The model became brutally simple: shift manufacturing to Asia and India where production is cheaper, import the finished goods, and let retailers squeeze the maximum margin from the difference. We kept the shopping. We exported the factories, the apprenticeships, the skilled jobs and much of the productive wealth that went with them.
The bitter irony is that British science helped lay the foundations of the communications revolution, yet Britain surrendered much of the productive capacity that could have turned innovation into skilled employment, exports and national wealth. We became very good at buying what other countries make.
Cheap flights weren’t invented by Thatcherism either. Freddie Laker was flying passengers cheaply across the Atlantic in the 1970s. And online shopping may be convenient, but convenience does not replace the wages, shops and local economies lost when high streets are hollowed out.
A mobile phone is a consumer product. A council house is security. Cheap flights are convenient. Publicly owned energy is economic power. Online shopping saves an afternoon. Ownership decides who receives the wealth for generations.
Those things are not remotely equivalent.
Meanwhile, we sold off the family silver, squandered the great windfall of North Sea oil and gas, and built an economy of soaring rents, grotesque inequality and household bills that would once have caused a political revolt.
Selling off the country’s assets and running essential services for private profit was never a recipe for making the majority richer.
Britain remains one of the richest countries on Earth. So if that wealth isn’t showing up in secure homes, decent wages, affordable energy, functioning public services and a better life for the working class, where exactly is it going?
Someone is taking the cream. Everyone else gets the gruel, the bill, and then a lecture about living within their means.
We know the disease because we live with the symptoms every day.
The question Burnham now has to answer is the only one that matters: where is the cure? Where is the vision to rebuild public ownership, council housing, secure work and an economy that serves the country rather than strips it for parts?

Lord Sikka is of course correct, by my reading Thames Water is already in breach of its operating licence, govt could, should it choose to, simply issue an enforce order demanding that TW remedy those breaches and any failure to do so the licence will be revoke in 28 days time.
Job done.
We’re prepared to change the Insolvency law to reform water industry, says Angela Eagle.
That's a distraction.
Companies have over 1,200 criminal convictions.
Ministers can revoke their licence, place them in administration, followed by nationalisation.

Thatcher sold off our council houses, now we have a housing crisis.
She privatised the utilities, now they all rip us off.
She deregulated the City, and then we had the great crash of 2008.
Margaret Thatcher's legacy has been disastrous for the UK.

Hello @Peston just heard you claim on @itvnews that renationalisation of the water companies would cost "an absolute fortune". Have you had this fact checked? Are you assuming compensation payments to shareholders in excess of real value of the companies? Thread below may help.
