Trinidad Chambliss just waited through Sumrall’s entire TV interview to congratulate him on the win. Easy to see why Ole Miss fans love him. #gators #olemiss

ESPN is doing a "30 For 30 special" tonight about the 1990 student murders coinciding with Coach Steve Spurrier's first year here in Gainesville, FL. as the Gators' new HBC. I will never forget that time. And I will never forget the students who were brutally murdered in my hometown. Rest in peace, Sonja Larson, Christina Powell, Christa Hoyt (who went to GHS at the same time I did back in the mid-80s), Tracy Paules, and Manny Taboada. You all will never be forgotten in Gainesville, FL.

.@realmikefox is one of the best people I know. He has always been this way, since the day I met him. Clever, funny, sarcastic, loyal, wicked smart, tireless, and fun. He doesn’t want pity. If you take anything from seeing him inside this body-that-has-other-ideas, remember what he once told me. “I got dealt a pretty good card hand. This was just in there.” He’s the same guy he ever was. Love you forever, my brother Mike.

Macklemore just responded to being dropped from the rest of the Ed Sheeran tour…and somehow he still doesn’t get it. He wants everyone to believe this happened because he simply got on stage and said “Free Palestine.” I was there. That’s not what happened. He took someone else’s concert, accused Israel of genocide, filled the screens with anti-Israel political messaging and turned what was supposed to be an Ed Sheeran show into his own political rally. And now, rather than acknowledging for even a second why so many people were upset, he says accusations of antisemitism are being “weaponized” to silence him. That part really says it all. According to Macklemore’s statement, Ed Sheeran told him directly that his messaging had hurt a lot of people he spoke with. Macklemore’s response was basically: they’re wrong. He even says there is a “fundamental disconnect” if people are more offended by those words than by what he believes is happening in Gaza. Maybe the disconnect isn’t everyone else, @macklemore. Maybe it’s you. And the fallout didn’t stop with the reaction online. According to Macklemore himself, Robert Kraft told Ed that Macklemore would not be allowed to perform at Gillette Stadium, other stadium owners followed, and ultimately @edsheeran removed him from the tour. So thank you Robert Kraft, @Pink, and @edsheeran. Pink had the guts to publicly call this out knowing exactly what kind of reaction she would get. Robert Kraft apparently had the ability to actually do something about it…and did. And Ed ultimately did the right thing. Credit where credit is due. Sometimes having a platform means knowing when to use it. And sometimes having a stage means remembering it isn’t yours to hijack. rollingstone.com/music/music…

I heard someone say, satan got Adam and Eve to fix their eyes on one tree when God had already given them an entire garden, think about that. The enemy didn't have to convince them that they had nothing. He just had to make them forget everything that they already had. And he still, till this day, uses the same strategy. He gets us to focus on relationships we don't have, the job that we don't have, the opportunity we don't have, the healing we haven't seen yet. Meanwhile, we are blind to the countless prayers god has already answered. Gratitude isn't pretending you don't want more, it's refusing to let what you don't have make you forget the goodness of God that's already surrounding you.

Every year on 9/11 I take the kids to ground zero to write down names engraved in the memorial. Then we go home and look them up to talk about their stories. Today, my youngest was writing a name when a woman walked up and asked her what she was doing. When she explained, the woman gently asked “will you write down my son’s name too?” We spent the next few minutes talking to Morton Frank’s mother about his life. He was 31. When I asked her how she was holding up on the 25th anniversary she teared up and said, “same as every other day.” #neverforget

Perhaps we can make this photo go viral again. This is Officer Chris Amoroso of the NYNJ Port Authority Police. This photo is from September 11, 2001, with the towers behind him. After saving this pregnant woman Chris decided to go back in for his 5th time. Despite having a wife and baby at home, despite being only 29 years old, Chris and 59 other Police Officers and 343 Firefighters never made it back out. You can curse us out, spit, defund and disrespect us, but when you call we will be there. Thats what makes us different. Im not looking for responses especially political ones. Just remember Chris and share his story. No sports number on his chest, no large contract no anthem to kneel to, just a real hero. #NeverForget

It was reported that Al Braca climbed atop his desk in the Twin Towers and said, "I'm going to Heaven, who's going with me." He then proclaimed the Gospel to his coworkers. Al's body was one of the very few that was found intact in the rubble. Al's office was above where the first jet crashed - he was not getting out. Those who were trapped with Al and heard the Gospel message, and received Jesus as their Lord and Savior were blessed in that they were afforded this last chance. Many were not so fortunate. Therein lies a lesson: no one is promised a ‘last chance’. Today is the day of YOUR salvation; receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior. If you don’t know how, message me ( David Wells) "The Lord is thy keeper: the Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore.” (Psalm 121:5-8)

ITS BACK! They canceled Florida’s Gator Bait cheer over a history lesson the fans never lived. In 2020, UF banned the chant even after its own president said he knew of no racism tied to it at games. Six years later, new president Stuart Bell brought it back for the season opener. The band hit the cue. The Swamp roared. Traditions aren’t hate speech. Fear of the mob is. Play the fight song. Leave the morality police in 2020.
