Gateacre Summer School is in full swing, with students enjoying a week of chess, board games, sports, art, music and more, while building teamwork and confidence.

Our KS3 Classics pupils recently enjoyed an unforgettable trip to the Bay of Naples.
They explored the history of Ancient Rome & experienced the culture of southern Italy.

It was an absolute pleasure welcoming our future Y7s to Gateacre School for Y6 Transition Day.
Students got a real taste of life in our school community by meeting their new Form Tutors, exploring our school site and taking part in engaging lessons.

A huge congratulations to our fantastic Y8 rowing team, who have been recognised as School of the Year by the @AAYouthRowing after competing against 41 schools.
We are incredibly proud of each and every student involved. Well done on this incredible achievement! 🏆
Our Y7 cricket team recently played their first fixture of the season against West Derby, posting a total of 70 runs before being narrowly beaten in the 14th over.
We are proud of the team for demonstrating excellent sportsmanship, resilience and teamwork throughout.
Our Y8 Scholars recently visited the Grosvenor Museum bringing their Latin studies to life.
Students enjoyed a workshop and Roman soldier tour around Chester, exploring remains beneath the ground and visiting the amphitheatre.

Last week, our Y9s enjoyed an enriching visit to @IWMNorth, learning about conflicts from WWI to the present day.
A highlight was meeting Brian, who shared his experience of living through WWII as a child in Salford.
Our students listened thoughtfully and asked many questions.
