This is disgraceful. Antisemitic hatred has no place in our classrooms. Period. As a former NYC public school teacher and Education Chair, I know educators have both a legal and moral obligation to ensure every student feels safe, respected, and supported. I’ve been in contact with NYC Public Schools, and this matter is under investigation. There must be accountability. But accountability alone is not enough. This is precisely why I have long advocated for stronger Title VI civil rights training throughout K–12 education, not just higher education. Schools need the tools to recognize, prevent, and respond effectively to antisemitism and all forms of discrimination. Education must be our strongest weapon against ignorance and hate, never a vehicle for spreading them.

What exactly are you threatening to do to them? And under what legal authority? You also demand the release of Oscar Belgal while conveniently leaving out his grand larceny conviction, five years’ probation, and pending charges involving the alleged sale of heroin, fentanyl, and cocaine. ICE alleges he rammed federal vehicles and endangered officers. His lawyers dispute that account. His vehicle also had tinted windows, raising questions about what officers could see inside. The shooting should be investigated. That’s not a license to ignore the rest of the facts. And since when does the Manhattan Borough President get to dictate which federal agencies private property owners can do business with? Is this government or a protection racket?

"I think they need to leave.": A Bronx resident tells CBS New's @camiloreports she is terrified for her children after an ICE agent shot a 28-year-old man in a car with his 5-year-old son in the back seat. She questioned why agents resorted to gunfire, saying the bullets could have hit a bystander or a child nearby. She also criticized ICE’s training and use of force, saying the shooting has left her feeling unsafe in her own community. DHS said ICE agents were conducting a targeted operation to arrest the man, identified as Oscar Belgal, whom the agency alleges was living in the U.S. illegally and had ties to the Trinitarios gang.

HOW NEW YORK POLITICIANS COMPROMISE YOUR SAFETY AND THEN EXPECT OTHERS TO FIX THEIR MESS Oscar Belgal, the convicted foreign national felon, was supposed to be on court on 10/28 for one of his two open felony cases and then again on 12/2. His apprehension could have happened at the courts on either of these dates. But "Brad Hoylman-Sigal" authored the bill prohibiting ICE from making apprehensions in New York courts, predictably leading to these arrests in uncontrolled settings where there is greater danger to the detainee, the general public, and members of law enforcement. Now in response, he is openly threatening private business owners. He should answer to the public for the foreseeable tradeoff his policies created instead of passing the buck.

New York kept releasing him. When the feds moved to take him off the streets, these politicians treated the agents like the criminals. They called Belgal a “New Yorker” and a “good father”. They ignored the people he robbed, the neighbors he terrorized, and the drugs he was pushing. This is not compassion. Those ideologies deserve to be challenged without hesitation. But we should distinguish between extremists and ordinary Muslims who simply want to live peacefully. America was founded on principles of religious liberty, not religious rule. No religion or ideology should be allowed to override our Constitution, threaten our freedoms, or impose its beliefs through intimidation or violence.
