It’s a quote that perfectly encapsulates Trump. Ego, thin skin and ignorance. Norway’s government doesn’t determine the winner.
I don’t think I ever believed I’d see a newspaper paragraph like this: President Trump ‘said he would welcome immigrants from Denmark but not from Norway “because ‌I didn’t get the Nobel Prize, so I don’t want anybody from Norway”.’

It’s risky to have a baby in Idaho, thanks to a state law that criminalizes procedures needed when pregnancies get complicated. OBs have left the state. Half the counties don’t have one. The remaining ones are exhausted. See the NYT gift article in the comments.

War, inflation, trade, mid-terms. What is on the president’s mind? Bill Maher.
President Trump posted a more than 1300-word rant against Bill Maher, in which he tucks in that he is “not building a swimming pool in the White House briefing room,” but is still considering moving the press out.

Pure racism.
Trump: "Somalia -- 98% of the people here now from Somalia don't work. They don't have to work because they steal so much. They all have a Mercedes Benz. Low IQ and they live better than you do."

Census and ACS data put Somali labor force participation near 70% nationally and about 72% in Minnesota (higher than the state average). Working-age employment rates fall in the 60-70% range. The 98% non-working claim does not match those figures.

The fact that Trump will remove tariffs to help Republicans win elections, but he won’t remove tariffs to help Americans afford necessities, tells you exactly what his priorities are.
BREAKING: The United States is expected to remove 50% tariffs on some Canadian products in a bid to help Maine Senator Susan Collins and other Republicans in the upcoming midterm elections. Full Story: on.wsj.com/4i6fCyU

Blatant corruption
This Forbes investigation is a must-read. Donald Trump pulled in roughly $1.4 billion from crypto in 2025, plus more than $200 million from real estate, and faced a projected tax bill north of $500 million. So his company donated the "development rights" to his Jupiter, Florida golf course to a land trust, argued the course was a natural habitat worth protecting, and kept right on running the club. Forbes estimates the write-off could land around $825 million. He has done this at least five times since 2005. New York's attorney general alleged two of those appraisals were inflated. In Doral, he claimed a deduction of up to $323 million, more than double what he paid for the entire resort. A month after the Jupiter deal, he sued the IRS. The settlement his own Justice Department signed bars claims against him over matters that "could be pending," language that appears broad enough to cover this year's taxes. A federal judge found the case was brought to manipulate the judicial process. And the man now running the IRS, who took the job as this deal was being assembled, has a home backing onto those same Jupiter fairways. This is absolutely ridiculous. Nobody should be able to use the presidency to write his own tax bill. forbes.com/sites/danalexande…

Leonard Cohen: “There is a crack in everything. That’s how the light gets in.” Is there a crack in Trump? Does the light ever get in?
I asked the president about his job approval number. "It's fake," he quickly said. "It's fake." He pointed to the New York Times -- "The job approval, they said it's 37, 38?" he asked incredulously. "I'm not at 38." I asked where he thought his approval rating actually stands. "I don't believe I could be beaten by anybody," he said. "I think that if I needed it, which I don't, I think 60."
