🚨 NEWS: The SAS Regimental Association has warned that criminal investigations into Britain's elite soldiers are damaging recruitment, morale and national security.
Five SAS soldiers were investigated on suspicion of murder after two teenagers were killed during an operation targeting Islamic State in Syria in 2022.
Despite returning to combat within 48 hours of questioning, the soldiers remained under investigation for almost three years before prosecutors decided not to bring charges. All five have since left the military.
The association warns that prolonged investigations are driving experienced soldiers out of the regiment and "eroding the will to fight", calling for urgent legal and policy reforms.
