After seeing so many ESP32 devices, I think people seriously underestimate the jog dial and the humble REC slide switch. Hardware designers should learn more from 2000s Japanese consumer electronics. Those teams understood tactile UX long before touchscreens took over.

SteamOS now has hooks to the desktop user credentials in game mode, creating a path for a Steam account to eventually be fully tied to the local desktop account. Combined with low level hardware reporting/logs, like BIOS ver., this creates a realistic alternative to Secure Boot.

I didn’t read the piece yet, but Mark has enough money already and with the Meta pivot he basically said let me bootstrap mass market XR because why not spend all this stupid ad money on something cool and interesting? That alone is admirable imo. I think he’s all about legacy.

I wrote my own CAD software whose intended user is an AI. I asked GPT 5.6 sol to make me a case for my camera. It only interrupted me once, which was to log in to a website to download a model of my camera as reference. Not perfect but.. pretty crazy :)
