If the #LGRW are offering Nate Danielson, JT Compher, Michael Rasmussen, 2027 1st and 2028 1st for Matt Boldy. I don’t understand how it’s not being accepted. You almost don’t even want to give that up. #LGRW

Todd McClellan is doing the best job of all our coaches and managers in Detroit. Convince me I’m wrong. He’s a one man firefighter on a house that’s ablaze. #LGRW

If Detroit’s got an offer they’d accept from a team Larkin won’t go to, I’d come out and say that if I’m Horcoff. “The problem isn’t that Larkin doesn’t want to be here. The problem is that he wants to act like a free agent. If you want out so bad, waive your clause. I’ll have you in a new city for dinner time. Otherwise, spend however many hundreds of thousands or millions to watch Netflix at home. That’s his prerogative, and ours as well.” And that’d be that.

Stevie Y needs to bust open Illitch's door, say he's taking control of the team again, make the call to Tampa, sign and trade Larkin plus for Kucherov. The everyone will be happy #lgrw

Still can't get over Larkin saying he wanted to "earn my teammates' trust again" and then quitting on them (again) 10 games into the season. There's lip service, and there's whatever that was.

Look I know it felt like Yzerman was taking forever with this build. But this season how many of Yzerman’s picks are flourishing We fired Yzerman to appease Larkin and Larkin stabbed us in the back anyways

“I’m so grateful to be a Detroit Red Wing. I’ll never play in another uniform.” Steve Yzerman, after finally winning the Stanley Cup in 1997, on why 14 years of waiting was worth it to win it in Detroit.

Yzerman took over in 2019. Go compare drafts between the Blackhawks and Red Wings from 2019. The Hawks have had much more favorable draft position. Watching the game last night, which group of kids are you taking? Dont ever tell me Yzerman couldnt draft. #lgrw #nhl #yzerplan

Had Larkin provided a 10-team list to Yzerman, he'd be out of town & Yzerman would still be GM

There were talks in the the last 24 hours between Larkin's camp and the Red Wings, both last night and again this morning, and what was communicated from the agents to Detroit was that Larkin feels he's given the team ample time since his trade request in May to get a deal done. Larkin has had enough, so decision was made he won't play tonight nor for foreseable future hoping a trade materializes. Fluid situation still. Red Wings circling back to teams with interest, etc., as talks escalate.

To the popcorn kernel brains who took 71's side over 19's- you're fools. 2 years before this speech, Scotty Bowman was seriously thinking about trading Yzerman to Ottawa- for Alexei Yashin. Yzerman didn't (publicly) say a word about it. He came back and won 3 cups over 6 yrs.

Two things happened to Captain Charmin while on the road trip. He saw Hellebuyck get traded after not participating. I’m of the mind he had no one to hang with on the road trip and spent a lot of time by himself. I’m all for letting him age for five years and not getting a return

So, to recap the Larkin situation, this year he has: - Said he wants to be a Red Wing for life - Missed the playoffs again (scored one even strength goal after the Olympics btw) - Demanded a trade (but only to the top 3 US contenders) - Lost the captaincy - Begrudgingly showed up to camp (but wouldn't *really* answer any questions & got "injured) - Decided to play & said his focus was on winning games - Expanded his trade list (to the top 10 US contenders) - Publicly quit on his team for a second time Missing anything? Seems like a really easy guy to root for

Yes, it was a knee jerk reaction. Probably somewhere between Ilitch trying to appease Larkin and Yzerman being fed up with Ilitch and his hands on approach.

If anyone was in doubt as to the quality of Moritz Seider, this shift vs McDavid just shows his strength and HockeyIQ. Tracked him the whole way and not only won the puck back, but took that pressure away. Brilliant play from our Deutsche warrior #LGRW
