I wrote a quick blog about the #HighSeasTreaty - as although 60 nations still need to ratify it, I am filled for now with #OceanOptimism & hope this signifies a huge step forward for ocean recovery, resilience and connected, effective #MarineProtectedAreas - and cooperation🌊💪

@TweetAtRuthy spoke about the many challenges facing South Africa, and how she and @yfmpas worked tirelessly to increase ocean protection. She highlighted how this led to South Africa approving an increase from 0.4% to 5% #MPAs in 2018.

Final day of Advanced responder training for oiled wildlife, in Limerick & Foynes funded by EUROWA Mixed group, Ireland, Spain, Finland, Estonia and Germany. Two specialist instructions from OWRN (oiled wildlife response network) are completing a ‘training the trainer’ process

The second Advanced responder course organised as part of the #EUROWA-2 project is in full swing in Ireland! Trainees will undergo comprehensive theoretical and practical training on #OiledWildlifeResponse, from search and capture to washing and post-wash care🦆

Last week was my last @UlsterWildlife, after 6 intense, but amazing years! I have learnt SO much during this time about the #conservation sector, others and myself as well. It has been an incredible ride and I am deeply thankful for the opportunity to have been part of the team!
