#MMT in a nutshell:
1. Assert that money is only created by the State
2. So, there can be no money in private sector unless the State first spends it into existence
3. Thus, all economies depend on the State
4. Bonus: monetary history is wrong, due to #1 gold etc. was never money

The greatest honor an entrepreneur can achieve is creating a business model so ubiquitous that first world treatlerites see it as an "essential service."

Socialist foreign policy flowchart:

*Buy Venezuela’s oil* → evil capitalist exploitation.
What a conveniently silly ideology.

The defense just confirmed in open court that the hold out juror is a man. It's one sane man against two simps and nine girlbosses. Hold the line, sir.

God, you people are infuriating. That is not what MMT suggests.
But yes there are idle resources that could be mobilized with more money creation, could it lead to inflation, yes but more resources will be mobilized.

No, it can't. The problem of socialist calculation is the absence of property rights, as Mises explained, not knowledge, as Hayek put it. Without property rights, there is no possibility of calculating profit/loss with real opportunity costs for an actual owner who reaps the benefits of correct plans and suffers the consequences of wrong plans. Hayek's fluffy talk about knowledge is nice and catchy, but ultimately unrigorous, imprecise, and confusing. No matter how much knowledge you give to a computer, it cannot perform economic calculation on capital that is not owned, whose loss doesn't cost anyone anything and whose success doesn't provide profits to anyone. Socialists have been getting overexcited about every single advance in computer technology for a century, thinking it will finally provide them the tools to defeat Hayek, but the only thing that ever worked for them is private property, in other words, moving away from socialism. The only way to make socialism work is to kneel before Mises and allow property rights and let property owners perform economic socialism. In other words, the only way to make socialism work is to stop it from being socialist. The issue is not about the size of knowledge. This is why Amazon can successfully plan for hundreds of millions of workers, suppliers, and customers, but socialism fails in a tiny country like Estonia. Amazon, and everyone involved with it, have property rights and can perform economic calculation. A minister in socialist tiny Estonia has no property rights and so cannot perform economic calculation.
Hayek may be nice to read in the early phase of your learning economics and recovering from Marxist, Keynesian, and Friedmanite nonsense, but he is no substitute for the real deal: Mises, Rothbard, and Hoppe.
I discuss this in detail in my Principles of Economics, and you can see the full lecture based on the chapter on youtube.com/watch?v=X_ednX6x…
FT: “Imagine a super-AI armed with access to all the data we let our devices record for every transaction we enter into….Such an AI would surely bury Hayek… it shows that AI removes one of the 20th century’s strongest arguments against central planning.” ft.com/content/cd3fcbff-8512…

Dear socialist friend,
Nothing is stopping you.
If collective ownership works so much better, you can prove it by next Tuesday. Pool your savings with your comrades. Elect a planning committee. Run a bakery, a farm, a repair shop – shared ownership, equal pay, decisions by vote. All of it is fully legal, today, everywhere in the West. No revolution needed.
And yet.
You want the workers to seize the factories – but you won’t open a food truck with three people from your group chat. You demand collective housing – but you won’t sign a joint lease with people who agree with you about everything.
People have tried voluntary socialism for two hundred years. The communes keep dissolving – the members simply walk out. The only socialist countries that lasted were the ones that locked the borders.
That’s the whole story. Where leaving is allowed, everyone leaves. Socialism only survives where leaving is banned. The people voted – on foot.
Just do it. Or admit that "collective" was always just a word for other people’s property.

Which is why it’s so bizarre that no one in the MMT movement ever acknowledged the massive 2020/2021 deficits were a cause of the massive 2021/2022 inflation, and never proposed deficit reduction as a treatment of said inflation.

"If one insists with Mises that the absence of private property and prices does have something to do with the plight of socialism. Hayek's contribution to the socialism debate must be thrown out as false, confusing, and irrelevant."

Let's suppose that Mamdani Marts--by selling 30% below retail--put all the mom and pop NYC grocery stores out of business.

I prefer this quote of John Locke: "Where there is no law, there is no freedom. For liberty is to be free from restraint and violence from others, which cannot be where there is no law."
