August was a busy month at SCP!

From California to Georgia, Veronica Rivera and Alex Ozdemir took the scenic route to their new home at Georgia Tech’s School of Cybersecurity and Privacy. 🚗
Nearly 4,000 miles, family and friends, changing landscapes, audiobooks and one Georgia Tech plushie named Buzz the Bee.
Now in Atlanta and preparing for the new academic year, Ozdemir is researching programmable cryptography while Rivera focuses on human-centered security and privacy.

Researchers in @GaTechCyber know that the vulnerabilities behind recent cyberattacks on municipal water systems are not new.
Recently, researchers contacted more than 7K industrial operators to alert them that their systems appeared vulnerable.

Recent attacks on U.S. water systems highlight a problem Georgia Tech researchers have been studying for years.
Research from @GeorgiaTech’s Cyber-Physical Security Lab found previous estimates of internet-accessible industrial controllers may have been off by as much as 37x.
The team also contacted 7,000+ operators whose systems appeared vulnerable, helping organizations identify and address potential security risks.
