One of the most successful pedestrian streets in the world, the Strøget in Copenhagen was filled with cars until a 2 year pilot project in 1962. The opposition argued “no cars means no business” but the street has been a massive retail success, the city’s busiest shopping street.

Walkable cities. Do we want them or not? It’s a choice we collectively make every day.

We're working on launching the #UofG Campus Tool Library, modelled after the @GToolLibrary, as a pilot project in January 2023.
This library would be accessible to campus organizations & departments, allowing them to borrow specific tools and equipment (lanyards, DSLR cameras).

I was so inspired by the Guelph Repurpose Fest! Sponsors helped @HabitatGW and @GToolLibrary recycle everything from carseats to toothpaste tubes to crayons and mismatched socks. @Mike4Education was there taking fixed bicycles to those in need @ugdsb @WellyAdvertiser @GuelphToday

This is small and may seem silly, but I’m jazzed to be @GToolLibrary’s Volunteer of the Month. Volunteering let’s me meet people I wouldn’t otherwise meet, learn new things and actively contribute to a cool community. Totally recommend trying it out.
