GTFM's last scheduled Aberfan 60th anniversary tribute programme is at 7pm tonight. Produced by Phillip Stephens at Swansea Sound in 1986 "Aberfan- an unknown spring" looks in depth at both the events on the day in 1966 and the aftermath including the inquiry which followed.
As part of commemoration of the 60th anniversary of Aberfan GTFM is repeating special programmes originally recorded at Swansea Sound - tonight and next Sunday night at 7pm. Today survivor Gaynor Madgwick tells Doreen Jenkins about her experience in a programme broadcast in 1996
South Wales Police say due to a serious collision the A470 is closed southbound between the Upper Boat and Caerphilly junctions and will probably be closed for a while so please avoid.
South Wales Fire and Rescue has declared the wild fire at Llanwonno Mountain a Major Incident. It started on Saturday and they have 20 fire engines and specialist teams in action. It's expected to last for several days and private drone operators have been asked to stay away.

A rest centre has been set up for residents of Blaenllechau/Ferndale at Rhondda Fach Leisure Centre as a result of the ongoing wildfire on #Llanwonno Mountain, though they are not currently being asked to evacuate their homes.

They now say they are in Phase 4 of their recovery process – water quality testing.
This is a critical step before the boil water notice can be lifted. They are carrying out extensive sampling and testing across the affected area.
Ken Skates MS has been appointed Interim Leader of Welsh Labour following the resignation yesterday of Eluned Morgan. The appointment was made by Welsh Labour's Executive Committee and Mr Skates will serve as leader until a full leadership election timetable is established.

Just a reminder the Met Office has issued an Amber weather warning for heavy rain across South Wales from midnight tonight for a 24 hour period. Strong winds are likely too. Expect difficult driving conditions with flooding possible, especially tomorrow. Stay tuned for updates.
