At Uganda Development Bank (UDB), exceptional customer service begins with investing in our people. One of the highlights of our Customer Service Month was an engaging Brown-Bag Session on “The Power of an Extra-Mile Mindset,” led by Denis Kibukamusoke, Chief Executive Officer of Summit Uganda. The session challenged us to look beyond the everyday demands of our roles and recognise that the workplace is more than a place to earn a living. It is a stepping stone to greater opportunities, personal growth and professional excellence. Every task, relationship and challenge presents an opportunity to learn, add value and go the extra mile. Beyond the workplace, the discussion explored the importance of prioritising the different bonds that shape our lives: work, money, family and relationships. Participants reflected on how these priorities can stretch us in different directions, the need to recognise which require greater flexibility, and how to manage each intentionally to achieve a more balanced and wholesome life. At UDB, we believe that delivering exceptional service externally begins with nurturing excellence internally.
