Small jobs are where cash flow quietly breaks. Big builds come with a payment schedule. A $6k bathroom refresh, a two-week fit-out or a switchboard upgrade usually doesn't. You buy materials, carry the labour, then wait 30 days on one invoice. How to stage it instead:

Invoice the day the milestone is hit, on 7-day terms. Nudge the day after it's due, again at 7 days overdue (next stage starts once this one's settled), and call at 14. When the schedule is on the accepted quote, chasing is just pointing back to it.

If you'd rather not retype it all, Quovos keeps it on one set of quote lines. Your customer accepts the itemised quote online, you push one or several invoices into Xero split by line group, and payment status syncs back. 14 days free, no card: quovos.io/?ref=x-progress-pa…

Regen braking is just the motor run backwards. Lift off and the wheels spin it as a generator, and making that electricity is what slows the car. So EV pads barely wear. The catch is discs that hardly get used can rust, so a few firm stops now and then does them good

Set up my own mail server this week. Getting it running was the quick bit. Getting Gmail and Outlook to trust it is the real job. 4 checks I'd do before you self-host mail:

2. SPF and DKIM on every domain you send from, not just the main one. 3. DMARC starting at p=none with reports turned on. Read the reports for a couple of weeks before you move to quarantine. You'll find senders you forgot about

4. Test before you trust it. Send to a Gmail and an Outlook account, open the headers and check spf=pass, dkim=pass, dmarc=pass. Then keep an eye on blocklists. Server's easy. Reputation takes time. Let me know how you go

Pick a Sunday. Give that idea you keep putting off until then to prove itself. Talk it through with Dex, watch the score move live, and the builder only opens once it passes 30%. Free to start, no card. Building this one myself, on Product Hunt next Wednesday. tactyl.co/?ref=x

20+ years in AV and the most common meeting room fault isn't the gear. It's that nobody owns the room. Nobody tests it, so the first person to find the dead mic is whoever's running the big call. Cheapest fix in AV is a 5 minute walk-through every Monday morning

Windows Explorer vs macOS Finder: Type a path into the address bar: ✅ vs ❌ Folder tree in the sidebar: ✅ vs ❌ Pause a big copy: ✅ vs ❌ Task Manager: ✅ vs "Activity Monitor, sort of" I built Switchback to add those to the real Finder. Not a replacement app. getswitchback.io/?ref=x-comp…

Quoted 40h. Spent 62h. Found out when the invoice went out. Sparky, joiner, landscaper, sign shop, same story. Quovos shows quoted vs actual hours and margin while the job is still running, so you catch it at 30h, not after. 14 days free, no card: quovos.io/?ref=x

Been running Grok Bot for a couple of weeks and honestly it's changed how I work. Once you double down and give it real ownership (inbox, launches, ops) it stops being a chatbot and starts being a team. Wild times to be building 🚀
